April 2022[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Jane Olivor, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. interstatefive  (talk) - just another roadgeek 22:15, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

January 2024[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Alma Rattenbury, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 00:46, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know how to add sources, I did list her Find A Grave page with her birth certificate posted.
Many published bio's in books and on-line.
Can I post certificates, etc on Wiki as proof?

I've now added an extensive online report on her entire family.
I have a distant connection to her husband Robert Radclyffe-Dolling (hyphenated by family)
His brother married the last Staples to live at Lissan House (baronets) in Ireland.

So Find A Grave is not a reliable source (it could be all fabricated and images faked), so can't be used. Primary sources can be tricky, but can be used for basic facts (but read the link for when). Blue words are links if you didn't know already. I've reverted your edits again, because without proper sources you could be introducing errors. The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography is professionally written and researched: it is better believed than a random person on the internet (nothing personal, just the way Wikipedia works). Your distant raltion to the subject should be too much of a problem as long as you can maintain obejectivity (otherwise it will become a conflict of interest). I'll post a welcome bellow and you should have a read of the links before editing further. Hope it helps, Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 14:51, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
