Good evening,,
Yes, I indeed have two questions to ask, the first concerning the form and the second the substance.
On the form: After requesting the correction of the article, I immediately received a message indicating that I had to be patient because there were more than 3300 pending articles waiting for revision. How is it possible, in less than 15 seconds after receiving this first message, to judge the relevance of an article? Is it an algorithm or humans who do not take the time to delve deeper?
On the substance, regarding notability: I wrote an article about an internationally renowned surgeon, Kamol Pansritum, who has devoted more than two decades of his career to treating people with gender dysphoria. At a time when these patients were often perceived as suffering from mental disorders, Dr. Pansritum was a pioneer in this field, offering not only medical solutions but also hope to those who saw suicide as their only option.
Throughout his career, Dr. Pansritum has operated on thousands of patients from all over the world, giving them a chance to live in accordance with their gender identity. His expertise and innovations have had a profound impact on the field of gender reassignment surgery. He has developed and perfected numerous surgical techniques that are now adopted by major international hospitals, significantly contributing to the evolution of medical practices and improving the quality of life for his patients.
Dr. Pansritum's work deserves particular recognition for his dedication and invaluable contributions to medicine and society.
Finally, you question the relevance of the articles published by Kamol Pansritum in the medical journals I have cited as references. It is essential to recall that the publication of medical articles is not accessible to just anyone; only professionals whose work meets rigorous criteria can achieve this recognition. The requirements for a physician to publish the results of their research in a medical journal are extremely strict.
Here are the general standards that most medical journals follow, which, I am convinced, are even more rigorous than those of Wikipedia::
Originality and importance of the research: The submitted research must present original and significant results in the medical field. Studies that build on previous work must make a substantial contribution to existing knowledge or propose new perspectives.
Methodological quality: The research must be conducted with rigorous and scientific methods. This includes the study design, data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation of the results.
Clarity and precision of writing: Physicians must write their article clearly, precisely, and in accordance with the journal's editorial standards. Articles must be well-structured and follow a specific format, such as IMRAD (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion).
Clinical context and relevance: The research results must be placed in their appropriate clinical context, and their relevance to medical practice or public health must be clearly demonstrated.
Research ethics: The research must be conducted in accordance with ethical principles, including informed consent of participants, data confidentiality, and adherence to ethical standards specific to human or animal research.
Compliance with guidelines and standards: The research must comply with domain-specific guidelines and standards, such as CONSORT guidelines for randomized controlled trials or STROBE guidelines for observational studies.
Peer review: Most medical journals use a peer review process, in which articles are evaluated by independent experts in the field before being accepted for publication. Physicians must be prepared to respond to reviewers' comments and make necessary modifications to their work.
I therefore kindly ask for your understanding and support to help ensure that Kamol Pansritum's work finally receives the recognition it deserves on Wikipedia. His work, marked by significant contributions to medicine and a profound impact on the lives of many people, deserves visibility and appreciation commensurate with its importance. It is crucial that pioneering figures like Dr. Pansritum are accurately represented and recognized for their exceptional contributions to the medical field.
