- Please note: If I do not reply to you immediately, it is not because I am ignoring you; I might be busy or offline…
Thanks for the help.
[edit]I have noticed that I don't do that, and it's for many reasons. One is what you said, about finding the right template. (So I usually just leave a personal message.) Another is that I've found that certain times, it doesn't make a difference. I know that may make me sound like a "bad editor", but I find it either starts a "war" or people leave multiple messages and it still doesn't help. But I do thank you for trying to help. --JpGrB 21:25, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
(And I do honestly mean that, I'm sorry if this whole message came off as sarcastic.)

[edit]It's nothing wrong with my correction. The split was because of several issues (of course) but same-sex blessings was the main, not women ordination where there is not much difference beetween FK and POSK. There was also personal conflicts within POSK which led to the split. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.233.18.253 (talk) 22:31, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for contacting me. This mistake with reverting would not happen if your change were accompanied by providing source to verify validity.
So far I was able to find one article that seems to support it: Hallands Nyheter: Homosexuella välkomnas men partnerskap välsignas inte.
Please inform me if you think this source is sutable or you have other links.
The sources in English are prefereble, but in Swedish would do too. Skarebo (talk) 00:39, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- It works as a source. It's an article about the split and the main focus is same-sex blessings. I haven't found any information in English, but maybe you can use http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ and translate.google.se/ to get a clue about the article. California CASA
[edit]Hi Skarebo - I must admit I am new to article writing, so I appreciate your input. I looked over the article, and made some changes. Please let me know how you think I can make this more neutral. I am an attorney and have been doing child advocacy for several years. This is an organization that is a stakeholder for child welfare in Calif. and CASA is set up by statute and court rule, which I cited (and linked). After reviewing the article, I do not find anything that says that CASA's does a good or bad job, just that the law gives them a duty as listed.
The stats listed are reported by the Courts, and are actually lackluster in my opinion. I linked all the programs because I thought it would be helpful to those who looked up "CASA."
Also, I looked at the "CASA" page and it is woefully inadequate. I was going to do something there, too, but I decided not to until I go some feedback from you. Thanks for your time and help. 400lbs (talk) 08:09, 11 November 2008 (UTC)400lbs

Your request for rollback
[edit]After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback may be removed at any time.
If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. - Well… you erased it without explanation—definitely unconstructive. btw, it's not exactly false information. Peter Lavelle's page
[edit]You recently edited back Peter Lavelle's page. I ask you, do you know anything about the man whose reputation you are protecting? He is regularly seen around moscow entertaining prepubescent girls (this is not a joke), and is almost certainly abusing them - he clearly only lives in Moscow as such behavior is more acceptable than in the States. Please take responsibility for your actions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronaldoron (talk • contribs) 12:59, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm protecting reputation of Wikipedia.
What Wikipedia is not: “Wikipedia is not a soapbox, a battleground, or a vehicle for propaganda and advertising. Therefore, content hosted in Wikipedia is not: Scandal mongering or gossip. Articles about living people are required to meet an especially high standard, as they may otherwise be libellous or infringe the subjects' right to privacy. Articles should not be written purely to attack the reputation of another person.”
Besides… this your edit was a blatant vandalism. Skarebo (talk) 13:43, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Courchevel Ski Resort Guide
[edit]Hi
It appears as if you have removed the link to our resort guide to Courchevel (http://www.courchevelskichalets.co.uk). I am unsure as to why as it is a comprehensive resort guide to Courchevel including catered chalet accommodation not featured on Courchevels tourism website. I have also looked at other entries, for example in Meribel that have very similar sites to ours but not as comprehensive? Look forward to your comments.

Do Ya/Stay With Me
[edit]Hello
Some days ago I edited the page "Do Ya/Stay With Me", the single of the band McFly. I changed that fact that on the Single the song "Lies" would be there, instead of "The last Song(Live)".
You reverted that and accused me of vandalism. This is wrong.
On all the webpages, including McFly's myspace, they say that on the single, the song "Lies" will be included. NOT "The Last Song".
Please remove that accusation of vandalism of my IP address. Thank you and have a nice day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.83.132.80 (talk) 12:48, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for contacting me. I believe that your edit was made with good intentions. The problem is that you faild to provide any edit summary, so I had to base my decision on available information. Before I reverted the change I checked the reference in the article – it shows 4th track as “The Last Song (Live)”. Now I've investigated this issue a little bit more – it seems that CD track list was changed somewhat late (club-mcfly) and quite a few music stores still show the old one. You may want to replace the reference in the article with something more current. Regards, Skarebo (talk) 14:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit]How does the removal of excessive Madonna information from the Don McLean American Pie article constitute vandalism? - The only reason for my revert was page blanking. I've assumed that either it's a mistake, or you're going to update this artile. But it's not a good reason to leave it empty for an hour… Even if the changes are major, an article should not be blanked. In the future, please, use the proper maintenance messages. Another option is to prepare the new version in the sandbox or by using “Preview” button. Thanks, Skarebo (talk) 22:00, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
ACC
[edit]Hello. With regards to this ACC request, you made a mistake in creating it. Because the username sounds like a company name or a self-promotional name (especially when the email is considered), it is a violation of the username policy, and thus should not be created and should be closed as UPolicy. In the future, please be careful not to make mistakes like this, as access to the tool can and will be revoked. --FastLizard4 (Talk•Index•Sign) 07:51, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Since the name in question was a user's real name (Firstlast) + profession, it didn't seem to fit “promote a group or company”. As far as I understand, the personal names are not prohibited by username policy. While this may be a result of me overanalyzing the available info, imho to call it a mistake is a stretch. On the other hand—if you consider it as a proper approach, I will apply the username policy in a more narrow way from now on. Thanks, Skarebo (talk) 08:44, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

'Weasel words' on the entry for the Spanish-American War
[edit]Your description - 'weasel words'- would rather suggest your particular bias in this matter. I have none except that wherever and whenever possible Wiki entries should be balanced and truthful. I am, at present, on holiday and am paying for net access. Once I am home again and can collate references, I shall supply all necessary citations and then some. But for starters, how about 'The Meaning Of The Maine' by Louis A. Perez, Jr? Broadly, I have for some time been alarmed at an often pro-American bias on Wikipedia, which, if it exists as I suggest, contradicts completely the avowed aims of this website. Ted Schmidt Living Person Biography
[edit]This article must adhere to the policy on biographies of living persons. Controversial material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should not be added and if present, must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous. "This article is about a living person, and must adhere to the policy on biogrpahies of living persons. Controversial material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should not be added and if present, must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous." - Wiki policy
The article is about a living person: Ted Schmidt (Talent Agent) It has been repeatedly edited, and redirected to a fictitious person, Ted Schmidt (Character in "Queer as Folk). This character has personal problems including drug and pornography addictions which make this listing libelous to the living person Ted Schmidt (Talent Agent).
As Wiki articles typically appear in the top search engines, I am respectfully requesting that the living person be granted precedence over the fictitious person. Failure to do so is libelous, negligent, and reckless; resulting in an undetermined amount of financial damage to the living person.
Equal time for a living person to avoid libel should be enough justification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.144.89.190 (talk) 12:11, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- "Permission has been verified…" — permission to use the text from website, that's it.
"I am respectfully requesting that the living person be granted precedence over the fictitious person." The living person should qualify for inclusion (see Wikipedia:Notability (people)). It's not enough just to be alive — there are >6 billion people on the planet.
"Failure to do so is libelous, negligent, and reckless; resulting in an undetermined amount of financial damage to the living person." Careful here… Skarebo (talk) 12:31, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi. part of the work on New Page Patrol involves checking the page history before applying a CSD tag. In doping so you might find that a similar tag has already been illegally removed by the article creator. Remember that the more warnings we can place on such creators' talk pages, the more chances we have of stopping their vandalism and helping them to understand Wikipedia policies :) Cheers, --Kudpung (talk) 10:17, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Alleged vandalism and flat earth
[edit]The Qur'an explicitly states that the earth is flat: "'And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out), (71:19) 20:53 "He Who has made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." and some other interesting cosmology: 'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another' (71:15) (which actually confirms to the Ptolemaeic world view). See Qur'an text Also mainstream Islamic scholars believed that the earth is flat.
I do not believe that correcting misleading or even false information, however embarrassing or inconvenient it might be for religious apologists, constitutes vandalism according to Wikipedia policy. 87.208.211.206 (talk) 11:14, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Not every addition to Wikipeida requires one to cite their source
[edit]No one with any knowledge about the subject matter at hand would dispute the veracity of what wrote. It is all easily verifiable. I doub't you could find single Lubavitcher on either side of the issue who disagreed with any of it. You can easily find the source for the material I added by merely Googling it. What specifically do you object to? There is another Wikpedia rule about reverting material when you the option to edit it. It is considered bad form to just revert material. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.254.220.120 (talk) 01:52, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

I removed the last paragraph on Haris Vlavianos's page becauase it is based on a false accusation which underimines the integrity and reputation of this well-known poet. In an old collection of his he adapted a poem by an Irish poet, who is a close friend of his, to his knowledge. This poet, Michael Longley, not only knew about this adaptation but a few years later he wrote the introduction to Vlavianos's "Selected Poems" volume that was published by "Dedalus Press" in Dublin in 2008. Moreover, he was invited to Athens by Vlavianos himself to be present at the launching of his book of poems, entitled "Homer' Octapus", that Vlavianos translated. The unknown person that keeps editing Vlavianos' page [he signs as "Agnostosgnostos", which means in Greek, "Unknownknown"] obviously wants to cause damage to this person by lying about his work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.103.25.79 (talk) 06:11, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
maybe I am vandilising
[edit]but I'm also a qualified expert, more used to writing academic papers than wikipedia articles. I removed material within my area of expertise that I consider encourage illegal activities.
the material was also uncited. are you telling me I need a reason other than the material have no citations to remove it? when the material is considered by most experts in the area to mislead the public, possibly into illegal, immoral, silly behaviour? like keeping large wild animals from tropical jungles as pets?
I guess I do. I'm one of those vandals that hates you it seems.
I'm also genuinely busy. I think you should remove the material. all else being equal, none of it was verifiable.

Waterspout
[edit]Hi,
Watch out when you are making formating about the meaning of the sentences. In this article you use the template CONVERT in order to convert a temperature of 19°C to 66°F. However the sentence in the article was not for a température in Celsius transformed to Farenheit (Celsius multiplied by 1.8 + 32), it was : "this requires 19°C a temperature difference which is 34.2°F (Celsius multiplied by 1.8). I had to correct.
Pierre cb (talk) 04:35, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Yep, mistake. On the other hand, 34 °F is better — precision is not that high. Skarebo (talk) 06:55, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
About the update on the Buffalo Niagara Airport
[edit]Hello, if you notice on the article, there are 2 notations. I updated the second notation which just seemed to be a duplicate of the first with the correct information, as US Airways / US Airways Express is merging into the American Airlines group, becoming American Airlines and American Eagle respectfully. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity
[edit]Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB.
