Hello, Skets33, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Information icon Please do not add content to pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Cameroon, without citing a reliable source. Your edit does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Cookiemonster1618 (talk) 19:42, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am the original editor who actually updated the Cameroon demographics with the CIA sources amongst others. I see your name always editing the Kanuri page and you provide very unreliable sources. Skets33 (talk) 20:17, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with [1] to Cameroon without citing a reliable source. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Cookiemonster1618 (talk) 22:07, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by inserting unsourced information or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Fula people. Cookiemonster1618 (talk) 14:38, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have not cited a reliable source on any of the KANURI edits that you made. Moreover, all the cited sources to the Fula people page are reliable and are calculated based off the current population. Please provide reliable sources on other pages you edit before lying to others that they are not following protocol. Skets33 (talk) 15:03, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Skets33, I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Fula people several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Fula people, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:30, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have initiated this discussion on @Cookiemonster1618talk page. My edits are very justifiable and I wish for @Cookiemonster1618 instead discuss these changes on my page rather than act on impulse. @Cookiemonster1618 should understand that they do not own these pages and should be much more open and inviting rather than shun away contributions that do not feed their ideal narrative. I have provided credible sources to corroborate these edits. Thank you. Skets33 (talk) 23:38, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your sources are not credible as they are based on old percentages from 1998 and 2001 which were decades ago. You made several changes to population estimates at Fula people when they were not found in the cited source. Cookiemonster1618 (talk) 23:40, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Skets33, I did intentionally point to the article's talk page rather than a specific user's talk page. You'll need others' opinions, perhaps a formal request at WP:3O after trying on the article's talk page. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:44, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced info that you added to the Tikar page

[edit]

Greetings. I noticed that you removed cited information to the Tikar people page. On Wikipedia, the removal of sourced information is not acceptable without providing additional sources that backup your claim. You also added a lot of unsourced information. On Wikipedia, sources are required. Users are not allowed to just added information that they believe they know. Each piece of information must be cited from a reliable, scholarly source. In the future, please be sure to adhere to Wikipedia's rules for editing or you could be blocked from the page. MiddleOfAfrica (talk) 01:50, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
