Jack Hargreaves[edit]

Deletion of portrait of Jack Hargreaves. Is this the portrait in the article on Jack Hargreaves I'm unclear why you want to delete that or does it appear somewhere else in a way that seems irrelevant. There's no obvious point in deleting the picture in the article on Jack Hargreaves as all permissions have been given by me - copyright holder of images and texts in the estate of Jack Hargeaves.Simon Baddeley (talk) 14:16, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re Jack Hargreaves portrait - the thumbnail - where does this actually appear. It isn't in the article on Jack Hargreaves.Simon Baddeley (talk) 14:24, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Acne treatments, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Acne treatments has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Acne treatments, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. CSD'er of the Week[edit]

Skier Dude has been identified as an Excellent CSD'er,
and therefore, I've officially declare you as Balloonman's
CSD'er of the Week!

As those who know me can attest, I hate speedy deleters.
A careless or hasty CSD'er can do more damage to the project than the worst vandal!
BUT I recognize the absolute need for CSD and value those people who take the task seriously and do the job right

As for what I look for when awarding this, please see for my criteria Thanks for being a beacon of light at CSD, we need more people like you!

A record of your week will always be kept here and a short review of your deletion work here.

Deletion[edit]

I've noticed that you are deleting all my old userbox pictures. That's fine, somehow my userbox page was deleted in some major overhaul and I've forgotton how to remake them. But please, do not delete the pictures on my userpage or my userpage itself. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ArminHammer (talkcontribs) 20:40, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Opinon again please.[edit]

Back in November you voiced your opinion on "new i12?" per my request (CSD tag discussion) and a proposal arouse from it. Over the course of 5 weeks it was refined to a G6 addition and was implemented on January 1, 2009 but quickly removed by an editor who had not been involved in the discussion. (Today's change to G8 to include images without a "parent page"). To read the final proposal from December 24 and re-introduced January 1 see the current post titled G8 proposal (from archive). As a result of the current discussion the entire thread from 5 weeks ago has re-started. If you want go direct to the re-post of the original question from November 21, 2008 see: New "i12"?. If you want to re-read the original post you made on November 29 please see the archive: "New "i12"?" archive. Feedback is welcome in the matter and if you feel your original comments are no longer valid or if the proposal as it ended was too far from what you meant please state that. Any "new" wording suggestions would also be welcomed. Thank you. Soundvisions1 (talk) 17:16, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PUI of Image:Seven82.png[edit]

I notice that you deleted this image that was listed by yourself at this potentially unfree image discussion. I feel that I raised a pretty valid point that the image was too simple for copyright, and you shouldn't have been deleting your own listing anyway--please reconsider. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 18:04, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Several points, 1) The image was orphaned and Wikipedia is not an image warehouse; 2) The uploader did not object to the deletion; 3) The uploader has a history of uploading images under incorrect licenses (about 20 that were similar to this one) which were unsubstantiated; 4) This apparently is of or derived from the Australian TV station - and there may be other trademark or other similar restrictions. 5) Given the same, there may be other considerations protecting this image, such as trademarks and design patents if it is a logo. And finally, given that it was orphaned, with all of the other considerations, IMHO, better "safe than sorry" and if the uploader wants it used, he can substantiate all of the possible problems there may be with the (c) & (tm) issues. Shanesun2.jpg IFD[edit]

Hi Skier Dude -

Thanks for the message. The IFD Shanesun2.jpg seems to be an older upload of a picture I altered (size) and re-uploaded as [1]. The latter is the picture linked in the Bob Shane article. As long as that baby isn't thrown out with the Shanesun2.jpg bathwater , no problem - except for the mysterious appearance under "file Links" with Shanesun2.jpg by a User:OsamaKOrphanPD - I have no idea how that got onto the original page. Hello, OKBot of Small Orphan PDs is now available publicly, please feel free to run it using the command "smallpd.py" in Windows or "python smallpd.py" in GNU/Linux, please note that you have to put it in the folder of pywikipedia to work correctly. Note me if you had any problems.--OsamaKReply? on my talk page, please 15:00, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mad Caddies' Duck And Cover[edit]

You moved Duck And Cover (album) to Duck and Cover (album) citing "correct capitalization" in your edit summary, and I was wondering what your source was for the capitalization. The album itself sports the title Duck And Cover on the cover and both spines. My feeling is that while the word 'and' is not capitalized in the middle of a title, the printed version should be taken as correct (see the title of track 10, aPathetic, for another example of unconventional capitalization). Orphaned non-free media (File:Calabrese Family.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Calabrese Family.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shoeido_fullsize.png[edit]

Please delete File:Shoeido fullsize.png. I took the photo myself so there is no copyright violation. But, I chose to not use the image in the article so I don't need it. Thank you. Dreamingclouds (talk) 21:17, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please be specific about image size allowed, "the image dimensions is still too large for fair use, not the file size" is not a clear statement. Also please cite the specific Wiki directive referred to - it may help. ciao Rotational (talk) 06:16, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pic for deletion.[edit]

Hi, a pic I uploaded to use on the Sonu Niigaam page (Sonuenwiki.JPG) is enlisted for deletion. Please feel free to delete it. It was being used because it was the only pic I had copyrights to for that page, but I now have a better pic for that page. I'd delete it myself but I don't seem to be able to. It seems only admins can delete it. Also, I got another message from you about another file: Sonu_Nigam.jpg. I can't remember why I uploaded that one. May have been when I was new to Wiki. But I do not have copyrights to that pic. So it can be deleted as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Falak11mufc (talkcontribs) 22:26, 14 January 2009 (UTC) Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Falak11mufc (talkcontribs) 22:22, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi skier dude- wondering why you deleted the logo? Thanks Alexander —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.100.125.21 (talk) 00:53, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you were going through and deleting some of the new pages marked for a speedy and just wanted your input in the issue of this page. The user simply removed the tag instead of going with a hang on, and the simple fact is its not sourced, or notable at this time. Your assistance / input is greatly appreciated.--EmperorofPeopleEverywhere (talk) 07:32, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proofreading complete for Dario Bellezza (it --> en)[edit]

Hello!
I have completed the proofreading and revised the page above by adding a significant number of sources after some reading; since you contributed to it in the past, I invite you to take a look at it, and leave any comments, feedback or suggestions on the page's talk by starting a new section. I'll watch it for a few days.

I was enquiring about the deletion of this category, and was told that you tagged it for speedy deletion. Project categories such as this, empty or not, are not covered by CSD#C1. PC78 (talk) 13:18, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Danity Kane discography protection request[edit]

Hello, Skier Dude. I was coming to ask you if you would semi-protect the Danity Kane discography article when I saw that you have already protected the Danity Kane article just today. I ask that you also protect its Danity Kane discography article. The reason I ask is due to constant changing of sourced information there by IPs. Maybe if they see that they cannot edits that article, a few of them will stop changing it to unsourced material after its protection wears off. Flyer22 (talk) 22:14, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, quick question: why did you delete the image from the ibox? Your edit summary on 1/24 said "deleted image removed", but the image has been on Commons since 1/16 and has never been deleted. Thanks. – ukexpat (talk) 15:20, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK cool thanks for the reply. – ukexpat (talk) 22:06, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

image deletion from H. Paul Shuch[edit]

What is your reason for recommending this image for deletion? The image is of me, I uploaded it, and there are no copyright issues. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drseti (talkcontribs) 19:57, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Filipino copyvios[edit]

Hi Skier. Can you place the following vios up for deletion. See the people. A user has uploaded clear local government photos and is wrongly claiming GNU that he created them all. They are all clear copyvios and the editor is degrading the articles with his long lists with them in. The vios are being used on Valenzuela City and some of the lists of local officials. Thanks Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:35, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The following are vios:

Indeed of all the cheek! Yes I removed the ugly long list (obviously constructively from the main article and put it in his list). Who wants to see a fat bloated table full of poor quality obviously copyrighted images will little info? Perhaps a few paragraphs of text summarising the main leaders only. I must say that "all" of the Filipino guys I've come across on wikipedia to date are quickly gaining a reputation for cockiness and arrogance on here. I;m sure there are many who aren't, but does seem strange the ones I've encountered so far... Hope you are well Skier! Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:48, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The images of Pio valenzuela however should definately be public domain by now as it is over 100 years old. Howver I have a higher quality image I'll upload to the commons so the two he uploaded here can be deleted.. Dr. Blofeld White cat 10:09, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flooding[edit]

Please stop disrupting my talk page. You do not need to repost all that text over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. As you can see, it becomes annoying. :) -- Cat chi? 21:14, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
