Inaccurate image tagging on User talk:Witkacy by you

[edit]

Hi there. This diff shows that you're claiming the free-use image File:Polish Scouting Association.png is not being used anywhere, but if you followed the article-this-is-used-in link from the Non-free use rationale template on the image's page, you'd see that it is properly in use (in the infobox). Best, -Mareklug talk 06:29, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nope- if you took the time to look at the history you will see that [1] User:Azymut took it off - I marked it after that, then User:Kintetsubuffalo put it back after I had tagged it [2]. So, no, no inaccurate tagging.. Skier Dude (talk) 00:43, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the protection for this article, but is it at all possible to get the little padlock instead of the big banner? Or does that not work with this level of protection? Darkwarriorblake (talk) 00:31, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia page User talk:Jmk7 has been changed by Skier Dude

[edit]

The Wikipedia page "User talk:Jmk7" has been changed on 1 June 2012 by Skier Dude, with the edit summary: Notification: tagging for deletion of File:JennieBrush.jpg. (TW)

I guess I might have listed the copy write, or lack there of, of this image improperly originally. Jennie Brush, the subject of this image died in 1874 and the original photo that I took a digital picture of in the Burton Historical Collection at the Detroit Public Library had no indication on it that any copy write has been renewed. I assume then that due to the age of this image it has no copy write protection and is thus part of the public domain.

Perhaps I did not specify this properly in when I originally uploaded the image.

Thanks

Dear Skier Dude,

I got the following from you in response to an earlier deletion:

Dear Jmk7,

The Wikipedia page "User talk:Jmk7" has been changed on 7 June 2012 by Skier Dude, with the edit summary: /* Orphaned non-free image File:JennieBrush.jpg */ lisc changed

Does this mean that I can add the picture back?

Image deleted erroneously

[edit]

Hi Skier Dude, you have deleted an image even though OTRS was received from the author. Please can you confirm why this was deleted to I can either upload a new image from the same author or get the old one reinstated. About N. R. Narayana Murthy

[edit]

Hello Skier Dude, could you please Semi-protect this N. R. Narayana Murthy article at-least for 2 months, because I'm unable stop vandalism by IP hooper and most importantly by new Wiki users who are just creating new accounts and putting bullshit information about the person's biography.--(talk→ Kkm010 ←track) 15:10, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that there are other issues than vandalism - I'd decline this if it were on RFP - you might want to try there to get another opinion. Skier Dude (talk) 05:31, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're right vandalism is done particularly by the IP hopper, but user Aurorion is simply adding information like putting "awards" as a list of items, I had said notable awards should be mentioned not kind of awards where "news channel" provide. Secondly he also adding the "local name" which I think is clearly absurd. My plea to you is semi-protect this article till contentious issues gets resolved.--(talk→ Kkm010 ←track) 05:38, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker)Why should awards/honours by newspapers and news channels be removed? §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 07:16, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't said awards to be removed all am saying notable award must be mention rather than awards given by a particular television channel since there are 1000 of channel and more or less everybody give some kind of award therefore its imp to mention notable awards like Padma Shri or Padma Bhushan.--(talk→ Kkm010 ←track) 08:48, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Your-notable awards like Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan are mentioned. But you are removing your-non-notable awards from the list. Plus your removal of entries doesn't always match your reasoning. Initially you removed all awards given after 2010. Then you removed honours given by University of South Florida but kept the one given by University of Pennsylvania. Also you removed few honours given by TV channels and Newspapers and magazines, but maintaining Time, GQ and Fortune magazine's.
And I, long time back in my edit summary, asked you to discuss this on talk page. User:Aurorion recently asked you the same. You don't talk on talk pages but rush to an admin complaining about it. What does that mean? §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 10:27, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry it has to be removed only notable wards must be mentioned.--(talk→ Kkm010 ←track) 04:39, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I cant agree on that as your "it" keeps changing. Also please take this discussion at Talk:N._R._Narayana_Murthy#Discussion so that other interested editors can participate. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 05:07, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and restored Classes of computers. You deleted it under G8 the other day but AFAICT there was just a recent rash of vandalism from one person against the page, and once s/he put a faulty redirect on top of the whole thing it looked like a SD candidate. Not the greatest page in existence so let me know if I've erred in my assessment. ~ Amory (utc) 20:19, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Turko Mughal(Mongol) titles"

[edit]

Like Turko Mughal titles, created by the same editor, it was also basically copyvio. I was about to do something about it, hadn't decided what, so I'm glad you beat me to it. Dougweller (talk) 15:22, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I seem to have clicked without noticing the date. He recreated it, I've deleted, blanked a couple of his other articles & taken them to the copyvio problems board. Dougweller (talk) 16:05, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Category:YouTube users

[edit]

Can you please explain why you deleted Category:YouTube users? It was not a duplication of Category:YouTube content producers. The two clearly refer to different things. At the very least, we could have taken the time to put it through a full review. CaseyPenk (talk) 00:59, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is a very long history of this and similar categories from way back in 2007 being deleted as simply too vague, unmaintainable, and similar categories like "internet users", "people who Twitter", "people that use MySpace", "people with 5000 friends on Facebook" (quoting Good Ol’factory... You can take it to WP:Deletion review, but in IMO it's a clear duplication of the various iterations of this category that have been deleted throughout the years. Skier Dude (talk) 01:12, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thanks for the explanation! CaseyPenk (talk) 01:49, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WHY

[edit]

Why did you delete the page Cross Gene? I was in the middle of adding a ton of info and I had like multiple info boxes friggin filled out that took like 2 hours, only to find out some one wanted to delete the stupid page. Why is this unimporant? The only way you would thing is is because you don't know anything about K-Pop, Korean Pop. It is important because they are a new group that is getting really popular in Korea and is a new multi-cultural group. Ukiss13elieve (talk) 15:41, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

San Jose Taiko page deleted

[edit]

Hi there,

I was working on creating the page for San Jose Taiko for a school project, but hit some bumps in the road (I'm new to editing Wiki pages). I was planning on editing it more but now it's been deleted! I read your description for a G8 deletion, and I'm not 100% sure what this means. Can you clarify? Also, is there a way to get the page back so that I can work on it some more?

Many thanks, Alex — Preceding unsigned comment added by Achang5 (talkcontribs) 21:24, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
