Thanks, good to know said activity is of some use. There'll probably only be a few more "actual films" -- the original estimate seemed to consist mainly of lots and lots of actors and "film biographies", which I'll skip for now. Changing of list importance to NA

Hello SkierRMH, you recently changed the importance of List of Harry Potter films cast members from Mid to NA. I don't understand -- lists have content just like articles and can be graded on importance to the project. (Additionally, I would refute the existence of a "class=List" when Lists have quality ranging from Stub to Featured too, but that's something I'd have to take up with the bigger project.) --Fbv65edel/t/c || 12:14, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

translation copyright

Dear SkierRMH, Somewhere in the Wikipedia system you wrote: 'Basically, a translated text is a derivative work, and as such subject to the original's copyright as well as the translator's. Therefore there would be an infringment of the copyright. Translations in general are subject to copyright. The main exception is that a translation made by an author who died more than 70 years [ago] will generally be in the public domain, but more recent works remain copyrighted.' I was wondering if you would be so kind as to give me your opinion on what the translator's copyright rights are for translating a work originally written more than one hundred years ago. There's too many variables here however, in general my base guess would be - if the translation is published, then I'd say, yes, as long as that is made clear in the publication. Unpublished, highly doubtful. I'd say that the person would have to get an official 'seal of approval' from some governmental organization to be able to claim a copyright of some work like this. But again, there's so many variables here, it would be difficult to make very generalized statement about this. SkierRMH 04:42, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Cast

Are you aware that the style guidelines for films were recently amended to state that it is not mandatory to have a cast section in a film article?  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 05:37, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

It isn't mandated that you have a section devoted to the cast. Simply putting the actors names in the plot section for small casts is sufficient, as seen at Halloween.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 05:48, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Your removal of {{reqfreephoto}} from Kappei Yamaguchi

There was a reason that the tag was there in the first place. That artcle had a fair use image at one point, but it was removed. That tag is intended to request photos to replace removed deleted fair use images. Hi, thanks for your comments on the talkpage for But I'm a Cheerleader - I will definitely bear them in mind. I have a question about the edit you made to the article page - how come you used the {{USA}} template, thereby adding the flagicon to the Country of origin field? I thought that it was generally thought now that we should just put the name of the country and possibly use flags for release dates if they are for more than one country. I could be mistaken, the only recent discussion I can find of this is here. Anyway, thanks for having a look at the article and well done on all the great work you do for the film project! There should generally be no need to delete the redirect once a page is moved because they may still be pages linking to the incorrectly capitalized title. Moreover, redirects from other capitalization help readers find the article (see What do we use redirects for?). I have one suggestion about moving pages if you don't mind. Hard question. I was never sure what's the policy on this matter. The part in parentheses continues the main title in this case so it may be reasonable to capitalize it as if the parentheses don't exist. Chalk (film)

Hello, SkierRMH. I started the stub to Chalk (film) and you put improvement tags on the talk page per the film wikiproject. I followed most of the suggestions that were made in upgrading the article but welcome any more suggestions you might have to get it out of stub- class. I know it does not help that I have yet to see the movie(I plan on it though) and the release of it was much more limited than I thought (only in L.A. on one screen but with more cities to come). I noticed that most of your plot synopses for the Bill, the Galactic Hero series are word-for-word identical to the same on Amazon.com, and that one, as I recall, is taken from the book jackets. After writing that, I had a friend of mine question me about that post, so I do want to iterate that there was no sarcasm in that, because I have known people on Wikipedia to insert their own work into an article, which could also be found at other websites.
