Fair-use templates[edit]

Thanks for adding non-free use rationales to some RPG book covers! I don't check things regularly enough and User:Freedomeagle had left some deletion warnings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SeekerVI (talkcontribs) 00:13, 1 October 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Thank you - and a request[edit]

Thanks for fixing the "Non-free use rationale" template I'd posted for Image:FullCircleDvdCover.jpg. I had actually become aware that I'd made a mistake, but I am so irritated by these bots that go around flagging images that I couldn't be bothered fixing it. (I had even written a rationale when I uploaded the image, but not in a format the stupid bot could understand, apparently.)

And so my request... If you actually don't mind creating or fixing non-free use rationales, there is a guy who helped me out a lot when I got started at Wikipedia, and he's even more upset about these bots and them going around deleting images, and he gave up and let hundreds (I believe) of his images be deleted. It really bugs me, and it may be too late to do anything about it, but if not would you mind taking a look at his page and see if you feel like doing something to help him, if that's possible? Thanks. --RenniePet 18:45, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your answer, and many thanks for your help.
Regarding 23skidoo, my understanding (haven't really checked it throughly) is that he had over the years uploaded lots of images of old book covers, for example The Saint books, and then along come the bots, and they really are irritating in their mindless badgering. The few bot messages I've received have raised my blood pressure, but I did try to respond by putting in the proper rationale, but apparently did something wrong, which makes me even more irritated. :-(   --RenniePet 20:13, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For example, see here: User_talk:23skidoo#STOP FLOODING MY TALK PAGE WITH IMAGE MESSAGES
Like I said, he helped me when I was getting started, so I feel for him. --RenniePet 20:18, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot[edit]

SkiersBot mistagged the talk pages of Frostburn and Gray render with a Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics template. Both articles do have a stub template but it is not the Comics stub, it is {{D&D-stub}}, which is under WP:D&D's jurisdiction. -Jéské (v^_^v Kacheek!) 05:07, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for taking the time to add full fair use rationales to the covers of those Fighting Fantasy books. I probably would have ended up being the one to re-upload them if they'd have been deleted so you've saved me a lot of effort. EvilRedEye 09:56, 8 October 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Elvis Burning Love Movie.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Elvis Burning Love Movie.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:47, 10 October 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Skinnyman FU rationale[edit]

Thanks[edit]

I noticed you've been adding fair use rationales to album cover image pages. I appreciate it! Alcuin 22:33, 12 October 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Re: RfA Opinion[edit]

Well, based on your projectspace count going back to April and your admitted lack of XfD experience, you might get some opposes if you say you intend to close them. I would participate in those a bit more to deal with that oppose. Your image experience, bot experience, and gnoming experience should be enough for you to pass adminship. If you don't intend to be an antivandal admin then don't worry about attacking vandalism and saying you would. You do a lot for wikipedia, I would say that either participate in XfDs for about a month and run with what you got, or run now and just state that you'll mainly use the tools for images, moving, etc (basically the non-AfD stuff you told me). It's your choice in the end; I have yet to figure out RfA's true opinion on wikignomes honestly. But yeah, I'd say participate for a bit in XfDs, or maybe create a nice article (either WP:DYK quality or one that gets close to WP:GA). You don't have to create an article, but I know there's some people who oppose for a lack of that as well. (I just saw your many article creations, so that satisfies that.) If you remind me in a few weeks, I can check back on your editing status to see if you're ready. I'd support you now, and I'd like to think you would pass, I'm just covering anything that people might go after. Wizardman 14:20, 13 October 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Fair to Midland[edit]

Both Fair to Midland's official site and Serjical Strike list the album's title as Fables From a Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times is True, so I feel the page should be there. I didn't just move it for the album's cover. You did make me notice that I forgot to make the i in "is" lowercase when I moved the page, though. I won't change it again until we've agreed, but I think it should be moved there. SouperAwesome 14:35, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Thanks, I hadn't known about that! SouperAwesome 10:04, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Ghoul (1975)[edit]

Hello, thank you for showing interest in the page i created for "the ghoul". Unfortunately i am total crap at creating wikipedia pages so i thought maybe i'd bring something to your attention in the hope that you will be able to do more with it than i can. there is a poster for the film here http://www.clubdesmonstres.com/ghoulpc02.gif that could possibly be used on the page. it is small but i cannot find a larger one. the only other one i could find was a rather bizarre turkish one sheet which bears little to do with the film. copyright should not be an issue as this film has long since fallen into the public domain.

thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Liamjoneill (talkcontribs) 02:34, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:5 star general.jpg)[edit]

checkY done. Thanks for uploading Image:5 star general.jpg.

Hi!

I see SkiersBot added the Template:WikiProject Colorado to Talk:Colorado State Forest - this template doesn't exist. --Stormie 00:16, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Figured it was something simple like that. :-) --Stormie 00:26, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
