Orphaned fair use image (Image:Wikipedia with ads.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wikipedia with ads.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Remember the dot (t) 01:54, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Ralph and Sam undressing.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ralph and Sam undressing.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --OrphanBot 04:10, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

[edit]
Updated DYK query Did you know? was updated. On 18 November, 2007, facts from the articles Sheep Ahoy, A Sheep in the Deep, and Don't Give Up the Sheep, which you recently nominated, were featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Proposed deletion of Comparison of vampire traits

[edit]

The article Comparison of vampire traits has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nothing but original research, personal essay in chart form, major violation of WP:NOT's prohibition against indiscriminate lists of information. No way to salvage this to meet our policies and no reason to try to do so that would serve any encyclopedic purpose.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DreamGuy (talk) 15:19, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Comparison of vampire traits, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comparison of vampire traits. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. DreamGuy (talk) 00:37, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Another message about the vampire traits article

[edit]

We have some strict rules on which sources are required, and the stuff you're adding will probably be removed at some point. I recommend grabbing stuff from the Vampire article, which is a really well developed article in terms of sources, or grabbing stuff from google books. Be aware that I'm one of the people in favor of the article, so I say this with love for the article. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 03:47, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello,

I noticed you moved page Canon EOS-1D X Mark II to Canon EOS 1D X Mark II months ago. But clearly, Canon EOS-1D X Mark II is the correct spelling. Canon EOS-1D series has its uniq product line named EOS-1D, while other Canon DLSR camera has the product line named EOS. Please check official Canon web site. See URLs below. You cannot change a product's brand or name.

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/products/details/cameras/dslr/eos-1d-x-mark-ii https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/products/list/cameras/dslr/eos-dslr-cameras

I intend to move the page back.

Thanks.

The article Double or Mutton has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced and very long article. Also probable cut-and-paste recreation.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
