Hi Skyl, here are some recommendations on your page:

1. May add explanation to the schematic diagram so to connect the paragraph to the diagram.

2. For the acronyms in the ‘Analysis techniques’ that refers to the instruments mentioned before, you may also add hyperlinks that direct to the main articles, as readers may not always read from the beginning of the page.

3. In the subsection ‘In situ analysis’ under ‘Analysis techniques’, a few kinds of maps are mentioned (e.g. full section map to reflect texture of monazite, age map and composition map). It would be great to provide examples of these maps, if copyrights allow.

Happy reading week!

Review From Jupiter[edit]

Halo \0.0/

Here are some minor suggestions for your page:

1. For the first part, you have mentioned that "Monazite crystals are usually zoned with distinct chemical and age domains" and included a simplified schematic diagram showing the zoning. I am not sure if it is possible to add a labelled real thin section image showing the zoning of mineral crystals. It can gives a real life image of this mineral zoning to the readers.

2. For the part of "Isotopic dating" under "Dating Approaches", you have included the equations of U-Th-Pb dating. You may want to add link to the page of Uranium–lead dating right under your subheading, which people can refer to that and understand how the get these equations.

3. For the part of 'In situ analysis’ under ‘Analysis techniques', you have mentioned some maps, as Jenny have mentioned above it will be better to include some examples. if none of that is copyright free, you may want to make a very simple one like a fake "area a" and "area b" with different colour layers showing the difference in age or composition. At least to let people know what it looks like and what it tells people.

Review from Lydia[edit]

Hi Skylar. I have some comments for you.

For the Background, there is a bunch of information. There are four sections showing what is radioactive decay of U-th/Pb, daing approaches, age resetting mechanism and monazite zonation. Why don’t you subdivide it into several sections? Or make the subsection title underlined so as to show clear division of subsection.

It is good that you have drawn a picture regarding the age and zoning of monazite. But I am not quite sure about how did the zoning develop and why shearing occurred. Why don’t you add a series to show better the formation sequence?

You should include more images in the background - monazite zonation part. Because you have lots of categories here, i.e. petrographical zonation reflects the chemical compositional variation. It can be characterized into (1) concentric zoning; (2) patchy zoning; (3) ‘intergrowth-like’ zoning. And the mechanisms including (1) intergrowth of monazite crystals with different composition; (2) episodic growth or regrowth of monazite in response to the change of environment conditions. More images will be more clearly presented.
