If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. COI/NPOV[edit]

Hi. Wikipedia has a number of policies and guidelines which you might want to take a(nother) look at.

The WP:COI (conflict of interest) guideline recommends against editing articles on subjects with which a contributor has an association. And confirms that is not consistent with policy to edit Wikipedia in your own interests.

The WP:NPOV (neutral point of view) policy confirms that articles must be written from a neutral point of view, and should not express opinions without attributing them.

The WP:PROMO (Wikipedia is not a means of promotion) policy establishes that content should not seek to promote a subject or advertise (or drive traffic) to sites associated with a subject.

If, as this edit summary implies you have a direct connection to the subject of the article, then you should be doubly careful that this connection doesn't influence your editing approach. And, regardless of whether influenced by COI or not, adding POV content is not appropriate. Especially content which describes an opinion (without attribution as to whose opinion it is) that someone is "well-known" or "successful", that an album is "most popular", or a song "uplifting" or "positive". Advising the reader that the "uplifting music video which can be viewed on Lisa Stanley's Official YouTube channel" is promotional. Through any lens.

As per the WP:COI guidelines, if there are specific factual issues that need to be addressed, then please raise them on the relevant talk article talk page. The WP:ER page describes how to go about this. Guliolopez (talk) 10:27, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
