Hi John. Do the sanctions apply to posts on talk pages as well, or simply editing main page?

All pages at Wikipedia are regarded in the same way as far as procedures are concerned. The point of general sanctions is to emphasize that the topic is particularly contentious and extra attention should be paid to edits and comments in the area. In practical terms that means talk page comments should focus on actionable proposals to improve the article based on policies (mainly WP:RS and WP:DUE), and comments should not appear to bludgeon the process with excessive emotion, length or frequency. Help me!

Please help me with... I'm a novice user and noticed that a while back, User:ජපස posted a greeting on my talk page alluding to something I posted that didn't comply with policy. I don't remember seeing any of my edits removed (so far I've only interacted with article Talk pages, though I'm now familiarizing myself with what is/isn't appropriate there). Can someone please help by providing feedback on what post of mine was in appropriate so I can rectify for the future? Thank you ☺️.

Also, if I don't sign posts with four tildes is my username still visible? I haven't been doing that and it seems my signature appears anyways but just wanted to double check. Thanks! Sloorbeadle (talk) 01:49, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Comments you made on Talk:Antibody-dependent enhancement were not supported by sources. Since this was not in article space, the edit was not removed. This was just a friendly reminder that additions to articlespace need to be tied carefully to reliable sources. Thus the wording "may have been removed". In this case, because you stuck to just the talkpages, there was no reversion. jps (talk) 02:50, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Sloorbeadle, to answer you last question - your username is not visible on the page if you do not sign it. Usually a bot will come over and add a template that says the text was unsigned and say whom it was written by (I will intentionally leave this unsigned for you to see), but it is best practice to always sign your posts. At any rate, your edits are viewable in the edit history of the page, so even if the bot does not auto sign for you, it is possible to see who said what. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Giraffer (talk • contribs)
