No Fun[edit]

Hi Smartsmith, no, Wikipedia is no fun at all. Watching things more than one year now, I can see the cons of it clearly. Everywhere where half-educated elitists like DreamGuy hold topics hostage, every serious contributor leaves the arena. No need to be humiliated and to deal with people who are unable to contribute a single discussion article without being snide and rude. I don´t know, why my account is still on, I remember having asked for it being deleted some months ago. Wikipedia is a great idea in theory. In practice it lacks much quality due to rambos, driving out serious contributors. Kind regards from Austria eliZZZa @ www.crimeZZZ.net

Your credentials are very impressive. I am aware of the limitations of IQ testing but the results are useful, at times. Over the years I have tested at above to well-above average but, compared to thee, I am severely lacking in brain power!!!!!!

Kudos to you for your efforts and all that you have accomplished.

100th article[edit]

Yay I have edited more than 100 articles, hope the next 100 would be more useful edits than just changing the grammar of articles.

Thanks for uploading Image:Livestrong headnband 001.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Secretlondon 04:52, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

IP Adress Blocked[edit]

My IP adress has been blocked because some bloody idiot(s) kept vandalising Wikipedia. Thus my contributions would be futile until the period is over

Account Deletion[edit]

Dear Smartsmith, can you tell me, how I can have my account deleted resp. where I find an answser for that question? Kind regards from Austria eliZZZa

Image copyright problem with Image:Future_MRT_Lines.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Future_MRT_Lines.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 08:21, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Smartsmith. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Infologo.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Smartsmith/Infobox. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:13, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:LDS.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LDS.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:44, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Sentosa Express.jpg[edit]

File:Sentosa Express.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:SentosaExpressTrain-Sentosa-20060530.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:SentosaExpressTrain-Sentosa-20060530.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 06:13, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
