So, it is fine with the Wiki staff that the German word Sturmgewher, which literally translates as storm (sturm) gun (gewher) is perverted to fit some liberal politician's contrived meaning, created only to instill fear in an ignorant public? There is no such thing as an "assault rifle" unless one wants to include such things in that category as "assault frying pan" or "assault hammer" or perhaps "assault rock" or "assault pointy stick"? And what hte heck is a "tildes"? The freaking wavy line things? Smg85051 (talk) 05:12, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If I may, the use of "assault rifle" to refer to a certain class of military rifle long predates the term "assault weapon", which are a class of semi-automatic weapons. Certain politicians and media personnel have conflated the two terms, but the first is a legitimate military term that has been used in the English language since the end of WWII. don't cut a german (or any foreign language) word in parts, translate these parts, merge these parts together and expect a correct translation. Won't work in 99.99% of these translation attempts. Mixing-in a political agenda doesn't help either.--Denniss (talk) 15:27, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am not a millennial, nor do I participate in their foolishness; they are a major reason that today's society and culture are in such deranged state, and "tech" entities, wiki included, are determined to influence the minds of children who are indoctrinated, not educated. The AR15 is no more the mythic "assault weapon" than a pitching wedge is an assault golf club, and it is not a weapon of war; no nation's military goes into combat with a semi-automatic rifle.
