Scoring algorithm

[edit]

So, right now the score is based on the time until the AfD is scheduled to be closed, how many votes it has, how many bytes the page text is, and how many times it has already been relisted. This combination kinda makes this page more like "AfD's that need to be relisted right now" rather than "AfD's requiring attention". I'm hoping to make this a page that people can come to and contribute to AfD's that are most in need of attention. Perhaps looking for the ones with 0 or 1 votes isn't the way to do that. Any ideas? How do you look for AfD's that need attention? —SW— confer 15:16, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I may be missing the point here, but don't "AfD's that need to be relisted right now" and "AfD's requiring attention" kind of cover the same set? After all, an AfD is relisted because it requires more attention before it should be closed.--Yaksar (let's chat) 18:12, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I guess you're right, the list just didn't seem as useful as it could be if it only contains AfD's with no votes that are about to close. —SW— communicate 15:22, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'd favor a wider net, if I had to. This list has caught several closed debates that were still sorted, open debates that hadn't been transcluded, etc. If the debate is a month old and hasn't been relisted, it still shows up here and we can figure out why. True, but keep in mind that this list might not show you all overdue debates. For instance, if a debate is a month old and hasn't been closed, but it has 10 votes and is 20Kb long, it may not appear on this list.
