Meinertzhagen[edit]

Well, I think the information is of relevance. Since Salim Ali had high regard for him inspite of the latters opionions on him. Pamela Rasmussen in fact mentions this in her book when examining the ornithological fraud issue. I wrote that it is important since the quote was summarily removed declaring it as racist by an anonymous editor. The whole thing is mentioned in Ali's autobiography and when he was not offended I am not sure who would. And although Meinertzhaged did many fraudulent things - there are a couple of genuine things that he did discover. I am not sure I understand what part of the quotation you really object to. I have removed the bit that shows Meinertzhagen as a colonialist. Let me know how we can make the article better. thanks Shyamal 08:09, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lion heraldry[edit]

As an alternative suggestion, how about reducing the section to a brief mention and starting up a separate article on the topic. I could do it if you like, I do not mean to tell you what to do. Haiduc 03:40, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Sohola[edit]

Hi, Sohola. Yes, it is clear that John is quite fond of crocodiles and just doesn't like the idea that tigers can, have and do kill even large crocodiles when need be. The article clearly makes distinctions between the tigers usual prey and crocodiles, leopards and bears, but that is not his concern. John doesn't want to accept these facts, it's his problem. I will report him if he makes a single edit on the tiger article again, it's obvious he knows nothing about tigers. I just hate to see an article that I had spent lots of time on and improved it by sourcing everything with scientific data go down the tubes because of one persons fantasies. This was why I was so aggressive in replying to John. User: TheGoodSon
