Protection[edit]

Please stop making all these unnecessary requests. I looked at a few where you requested indefinite move protection, for articles that were never moved and never seemed to have much disruption, certainly not recently. Please read the first two paragraphs of Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 23:11, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I will make many articles into one request. Solaris5296 (talk) (contribs) 23:12, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is likely a waste of time. You could make the "this should not be moved" argument about large swaths of Wikipedia. We're not going to protect all of those unless it's to address an ongoing problem. I strongly suggest that you avoid posting on the protection noticeboard again until you are a bit more experienced and understand our protection policy. Generations[edit]

Hi, You've been adding "generation" numbers to dozens Mac articles, but have not provided reliable source for this, and I can't find anything about it online. Please note that we don't allow original research, that is, editors coming up with ideas of their own that do not come from reliable sources.

Could you provide a reliable source? Otherwise, all of these additions will have to be reverted. Best, DFlhb (talk) 00:06, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DFlhb: OK. I'll stop. Also, here are my agreements and goals that I must follow:
  1. I will read and agree to the core policies WP:NOR, WP:V, and WP:NPOV.
  2. Before editing articles of living people, I must read WP:BLP.
  3. In order to be an administrator, I must:
    1. Agree with the main terms above;
    2. Must make at least more than 2 thirds of my contributions good quality edits ;
    3. Must be active in the last 3 months;
    4. Must made little or no spam or vandalism;
    5. Must not disrespect others;
    6. Do not repeat multitasking, and;
    7. Do not report joke edits.
  4. In order to be a bureaucrat, I must:
    1. Agree to the main and administrator terms above;
    2. Must make at least more than 3 quarters of my contributions good quality edits opposed to administrators, opposed to 2 thirds by administrators;
    3. Must have been assigned to the administrator's list for more than 2 months, and;
    4. Must be active in the last 30 days.
If I cause failure to read those agreements will take action of any warning, loss of permissions, or even ban, up to and including indefinite blocks. Additional agreements may be applied by administrators below. Solaris5296 (T) (C) (WA) 01:31, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Plus, I will not add any computer generations, until their sources are found. Solaris5296 (T) (C) (WA) 01:33, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Additional agreement 5: Content must be sourced to a reliable source. Solaris5296 (T) (C) (WA) 01:35, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock appeal[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Solaris5296 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I have waited the six month standard offer, especially contributing to Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. At least, I had visited and not made any edit to English Wikipedia, whether anonymous or logged in, for 10 months, until today. I am very sorry for my mistakes. I will have to stop and think and to think twice. I will also make better edits, contributions, choices, and behavior. I will assume good faith. I will not bite the newcomers. I will cite references and sources when possible. I was blocked on January 19, 2023 at 11:26:05pm Eastern Standard Time. Thank you for reading the appeal. When I will get unblocked, I will be helpful to the English Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects owned by the WMF (Wikimedia Foundation). Solaris5296 (T) (C) (WA) 8:44 pm, 17 December 2023, Sunday (1 month, 2 days ago) (UTC−5)

Decline reason:

Given Ponyo's concerns about "red flags," I cannot unblock you at this time. I recommend waiting at least six months before you again request unblocking. (You should not evade your block by editing the English language Wikipedia from a different account or while not logged in during this time. It would reset the six month timer.) It would work in your favor for you to constructively edit a different Wikipedia or Wikimedia project during this time, for at least six months and at least 500 edits. You will then need to concisely and clearly tell how your editing merited a block, what you would do different, and what constructive edits you would make. A list of Wikimedia projects can be found at META:List_of_Wikipedias . Before again requesting unblocking, please read the Guide to Appealing Blocks. Please read and heed any other advice you have received in unblock declines or discussions. Thanks -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:36, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You don't say what your other accounts were. What were they? PhilKnight (talk) 15:21, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I retired those accounts: Commonprenton, Gldgenga471834gldben, Vegrar81uyiA80, Cdmxm8807i8x, and Tailsultimatefan3891. Those were older accounts. Also, I will follow WP:V, WP:NOR, WP:NPOV, and WP:BLP. Solaris5296 (T) (C) (WA) 21:13, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Did you mean Commonprenton294813251 (talk · contribs)? Commonprenton isn't registered. PhilKnight (talk) 16:00, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I had the intention to retire it. Solaris5296 (T) (C) (WA) 23:48, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo: OK to unblock? Checkuser block?
@Solaris5296: Quite bewildered by #Generations above. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 07:56, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Deepfriedokra: Solaris5296 is admittedly Gldgenga471834gldben, which is globally locked, as are most of their other socks. This account should technically be locked as well, so I'm not sure this is a simple unblock option. I'm also concerned with the statement that the accounts were "retired", which is not accurate. There are some red flags here.-- Ponyobons mots 16:38, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo: Thanks, wow. bowing out -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:45, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
