Welcome[edit]

Hello, SomeStudent463 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Jprg1966 (talk) 00:18, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, SomeStudent463,

Do not move articles that have existed on Wikipedia for years to Draft space because you are working on your own version of an article as a school assignment. You are a very new editor and your preferences and work do not take precedent on articles that are long-standing on the project. You are welcome to help improve the existing article but your work will not take its place in main space.

If you have questions about article creation or editing on Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse or bring them to your instructor. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:51, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thx for explaining this @Liz. @SomeStudent463 Like Liz mentioned above, you want to be careful about moving existing articles in Wikipedia. I know Wikipedia can be a confusing place, but specifically for your assignment, you will be creating a separate, new article on Gabriela Alemán (artist), once you're done and ready to move it to mainspace. So no need to do anything with the existing article on Gabriela Aleman(the journalist article).
Some feedback on your sandbox draft:
  • I'd say to use the links from ABC7 and Latina magazine in your text to meet the criteria for notability. Those two pieces are about the artist themselves and would be great if you use them in the text, rather than leave them in the Further Reading section.
  • Works section: It's preferred to write out the information paragraph style rather than keep it in list form.
Keep up the good work, and if you have any questions, let me know. Looping in @AlmaLopezGDA. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:20, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
