Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, WebMeUp, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! {{help me}} Nahid, I wonder if you could help. My first-ever article got deleted before I realized what was going on or could discuss it with anyone. While I was figuring out what happened and was trying to get any advice on this, my account became restricted, and I can only write on my talk page now. I don't think this is fair to the person completely new to Wikipedia. Is there anything else I can do to unblock my account and/or to improve the article so that it meets the guidelines? P.S. I applied for a different user name, since now I understand that this one violates the guidelines. Thanks. WebMeUp (talk) 14:12, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I would like to be able to edit articles about search, search engines, web development and the internet. I did not realize company names as user names were prohibited. And I thought it was OK to create a neutral article about my company, which I did, but it got deleted. Anyway, if this is prohibited, I'm not going to do it and will just use this account to improve on other articles. So, please, unblock me. Thanks. WebMeUp (talk) 07:41, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. King of 19:36, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're the person we least trust to write neutrally about your company. In general, editors with a conflict of interest can't see their own biases. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 01:25, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Jeremy, like I said in the user name change request, "if this is prohibited, I'm not going to do it". WebMeUp (talk) 07:35, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This applies to potential competitors of your company as well; the more so, the less neutral you would be. Do you agree to not edit those articles? -- King of 09:23, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
King of Hearts, I wasn't planning to do it anyway. WebMeUp (talk) 11:41, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
