December 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Earl Gilkey. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. AfD notices[edit]

Hi. Thanks for creating a page on Earl Gilkey. I notice the page has been nominated for deletion, and have no view on this either way. However, when an article is listed at AfD you cannot remove the tag for the debate, and even if you do the debate continues, so you gain nothing by it.

The repeated removal of the tag would normally get you blocked from editing, especially as you may also have done it using an IP address as well as this account. Seeing as you originally created the article, I'll assume good faith and simply request you take this as a final warning and leave the tag in place. Feel free to contribute to the debate at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Earl Gilkey (2nd nomination) - there's some discussion of Gilkey's qualifications, which you may be in a position to respond to.
