Welcome from Ragib[edit]

Hi Souvik,

Welcome here. Would you also look into the article Chakma people, and Chakma language? Also, it will be great if you could take a look at the Bangla wikipedia article bn:চাকমা জাতি and bn:চাকমা ভাষা. Thanks a lot in advance. --Ragib (talk) 21:10, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The blue background color disappeared, because you changed the infobox template from Infobox of BD districts to the generic one (infobox settlement). Please use the Infobox of BD districts for the article. --Ragib (talk) 20:59, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Kantajitemple.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Kantajitemple.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 18:31, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use images on templates[edit]

Re your edit: I've undone your re-addition of fair use content to this template. Per WP:NFCC #9, fair use images are not permitted to be used on templates. --Hammersoft (talk) 12:40, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

now how do i make them appear on the template ?? tnx Souvik.arko (talk) 16:00, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • You don't. You're not permitted to place non-free content on templates. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:18, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It would be much appreciated if you could clarify the authorship and copyright status of this image, as Wikipedia takes copyright issues seriously. If you are the author noted, please make this explicit in the meta-data.

Thanks for contributing :)

Blocked[edit]

I am blocked !!!!!!! i'm on my own PC...how come another id use my ip address to create another account ! the reason given 4 blocking is terrorist ...what does that supposed 2 mean?...this is insane :/  !

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Autoblock #1670565 lifted or expired.

Request handled by: jpgordon::==( o ) 18:18, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Hi Arko, I think you are using one of the Dhaka ISPs, right? I blocked one vandal yesterday who was using বাংলাভাই as his user name. However, an autoblock also took effect, and blocked the IP of the vandal. Since ISP dynamic IPs are reused, I guess you got blocked (or perhaps you were using Grameen or citycell?). Anyway, you should be unblocked now. --Ragib (talk) 19:02, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

again blocked...aarghhhhhhh :/ !!! Souvik.arko (talk) 06:07, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Autoblock #1670733 lifted or expired. I'm taking a look at things to see if we need to give you an exemption to this sort of thing - it looks like there's a bit of abuse coming from your range that seems likely to continue over the next few days at least.

Since I just blocked another account on your range, I'm going to go ahead and give you an IPBE for now. An IPBE is an IP Block Exemption, which allows you to continue to edit even if your IP address is "hardblocked" as it was recently. This does not prevent you from being blocked directly, however. Here's the boilerplate, which explains this some:

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption.

Please note also that I'll check back in a few days to see if this is still needed; if it seems as though the vandal in question has moved on, I'll remove the IPBE from your account at that time. This isn't intended to be a permanent flag, but a temporary measure to prevent repeated disruption to your editing. If you have any questions, please let me know. Hersfold (t/a/c) 06:36, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, you haven't been hacked. How this usually happens, and I believe how it happened in your case, is that many ISPs dynamically assign IP addresses to their users; that is, every time you connect to the internet, you get a new IP address that's not currently being used. When you disconnect, that IP address is freed up again and available for someone else to use. In your case, you happened to be assigned an IP address that had recently been used by this sockpuppeteer both times you found yourself unable to edit. So at the moment, you're the only person using your IP address, however someone else might be using it tomorrow. The flag I gave you will allow you to edit regardless of what IP address you get assigned, although as I said I'll check back in a few days to see if it's still needed. Hope this answers your question. Hersfold (t/a/c) 07:32, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again. I've taken another look at things, and it looks as though the vandal who was causing you trouble has stopped, at least for the time being. I've removed your IPBE flag, but if you should find yourself blocked again, you know what to do. Happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:28, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bangladeshi taka[edit]

Took a quick look. At first glance, the article looks fine. You might want to add some info on the images shown on the taka (currently they are mentioned only in list form). But otherwise, the article looks great. Good job!! --Ragib (talk) 18:42, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As for Chakma people, can you please work on the culture section? --Ragib (talk) 18:44, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. For history, you can get a lot of good references from British-era books in Google Books. All older books are free. For example, this shows the Chakma population in 1862. Look for similar refs (choose "public domain" books). --Ragib (talk) 19:02, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: 5th Council of BNP[edit]

I would agree that the article as written is rather promotional. At this time, though, there doesn't seem to be much need for administrative action, so what you might want to do is continue trying to discuss things with him. If you need to, ask for help from a knowledgeable third party (possibly some other members of Wikiproject Bangladesh) who can help provide a third opinion. Should that also not work, I would recommend going through the steps of dispute resolution to try and find some sort of solution to this. In the meantime, I have tagged the article with a neutrality banner, which hopefully will let Tawsif know that it's not just you, and will also bring some other people in to help. Good luck! Photo[edit]

Hi Souvik,

I'm curious about some photos you uploaded.

Were these REALLY taken by you? I noticed these photos in a featured article. Therefore, we need to ascertain that these are indeed copyright free. I'm a bit skeptical about the origin of these photos. So, would you please clarify? Otherwise, I'll remove them from the article. --Ragib (talk) 04:00, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, then can you put requests for deleting these, and all similar uploads by you whose copyright you don't hold (or got permission from owner)? --Ragib (talk) 23:06, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
