Working with Images

[edit]

Thought you might want to read this:

Wikipedia:Picture tutorial

If you want a caption to show up, you need the word "thumb" or "frame". Also try to make the picture fit in with the text, not just be a long extenstion without any text beside it. Use the "px" command to make the image smaller than it might be noramally for astetics.

Proper Names

[edit]

I know you might have been sleeping when they talked about it in English class, but words like Montreal's Olympic Stadium are proper nouns, and as such MUST be capitalized. Or the teacher will come by and smack the back of your hand with a ruler.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Au revoir.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Au revoir.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:40, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eaton's 9th floor photos

[edit]

Hello - In your edit of the Eaton's Ninth Floor Restaurant article, you mentioned "washrooms are still there, water turned off, visible in archives on uer.ca". Could you share the exact link to these photos? I've searched uer.ca and couldn't find anything related to the Eaton's building. Another site, uem.minimanga.com, used to have some photos of the 9th floor as well dating back to 2003 or so, but disappeared a number of years ago (I've only been able to view about a 1/4th of them via archive.org). Really would be interested in seeing any photos, thanks! --17:39, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
