The Speculative Dinosaur Project
[edit]AfD nomination of The Speculative Dinosaur Project
[edit]I've nominated The Speculative Dinosaur Project, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that The Speculative Dinosaur Project satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Speculative Dinosaur Project and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of The Speculative Dinosaur Project during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. BassoProfundo 00:05, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 20
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Marid, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Giants (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This edit came up on STiki diff. Just wondering why? As you have some experience as an editor, I am assuming you had a reason. Some explanation in the edit summary would be helpful, or a comment on the talk page. A section blank with tends to come up on the antivandalism software and an edit summary helps those looking at it. - - MrBill3 (talk) 03:48, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
I thought I had left an explanation? Sorry if I was unclear. I've been pruning back a lot of "pop-culture references" from Wikipedia, as most of them tend to boil down to "there was a creature in this RPG I played that looks a lot like this one!" To prevent Wikipedia from becoming a long list of useless fancruft, those are best removed (the Peryton case is especially bad because, despite being a Borges creation, it's being retroactively applied to *every* winged deer ever done in art). One case where I felt an example should have stayed was for the catoblepas, where I retained a comic which literally has catoblepas in the title. Hope that helps! Speaking of pointless entries, Wikipedia should really get rid of all the Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual sections (entry for Catoblepas and for Catoblepas (Dungeons and Dragons)? Seriously?), but I'll get around to deleting them when I have the time. Sphenacodon (talk) 19:32, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
The article Avgodectes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This taxon was not validly named in a scientfic publication and was coined by a well known crank, thereby failing WP:SPECIESOUTCOMES.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:26, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
