Listenability

Deletion review for Listenability

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Listenability. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review.

I contributed this page last October. There was a question about the copyright of two quotes. I took it up with butseriously folks and OTRS verifying that the quotes were from my own materials of which I owned copyright. OTRS acknowledged receipt of the verification. The page has not been restored. It is an important page as you have no info on this topic. Bdubay (talk) 16:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Ballast.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ballast.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:01, 1 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 19:01, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Aguerriero.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Brodiebruce.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Brodiebruce.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:19, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

VBS.tv

All over the Web today people are talking about VBS.tv. Particularly as one Shane Smith managed to sneak into North Korea with a report team, photographers, the lot. It's headlining in major news outlets across the globe.

So naturally one wants to know who these people at VBS.tv are, right? And naturally one then surfs to one's favourite information source aka Wikipedia to find out, right? And one finds YOU have deleted the article on VBS.tv, right?

That god complex must be hard to shake.

Anytime you're ready

Lets get this WP:Gitbox thing firing on all cylinders again. Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 03:27, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Good to see you back

Hello! You may not remember me (we had a small discussion a long time ago). I noticed you'd gone but today I saw your edit at WP:BN. I'm glad to see you back. Happy editing! Seraphim♥Whipp 21:47, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey there! I do remember you. Thanks for the welcome. As you can see below, my list of friends seems to be a bit short at the moment. :) --Spike Wilbury talk 22:46, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

We all come back sooner or later...

Great to see the best Admin Wikipedia ever had back in his rightful place! Have been busy? No, not really. NOt in a good way anyways. I am not into "editing" yet. Just protecting. Which is the rut I was in before I took my break. I have been busy throwing out a few invitations to the project though. Whenever I see an edit make at least 5 different edits to guitar related article I jump on them with a quick project invite. I've only snagged a few so far. But I think some real focus on project-centric pages and showing some community effort within the project is what it really needs. PJM returned recently, albeit briefly, so it seems some of the old WP:GUITAR crew are still interested in Wikipedia. Even if its just a now-and-then thing. I was planning on doing a newsletter at some point but the project has been so fragmented that it would really just be a regurgitation of your last newsletter. Minus the call out to me... which I have heard and obeyed. I know a few more guitar page regulars that I could send an invite out to. I used to have e decent "composed" Project invitation that I used quite a bit but I can't find it back in my edit history - yet - but I will. I would just like to use the same one over and over rather than make them up "off the cuff" which is what I have been doing but they've been inconsistent in their wording and lacking proper project links. One other bee in my bonnet is that the 2 editor who are side-stepping WP:OWN on the John Frusciante article have decided to remove the Instrument=guitar field from the page infobox. These are the 2 editors who got the article to FA status so they have taken an ownership on the page. Many editors (including me) have tried to add it back in. But to no avail. I asked for a reasoning behind the removal but got none (see my talk page for more) I don't know about you but I am pretty peacocky about the the instrument=guitar field, expecially in notable guitarist infoboxes. Jimi, Eric, George, Joe, Link, Stevie, Billy, Franny, Scotty, Albert, B.B., Freddie, Eddie ..etc.. all have it. Why isn't it included in the Frusciante page. Just doesn't make sense? Will have to get it all sorted in time. Drop me a line anytime. I am only around in the evenings (sometimes early morning before breakfast) Work is still very busy but I am around at night. Still haven't found the perfect Tele yet. Still looking... always. Had my name in for one of those Limited Edition Jimmy Page Les Paul Customs. But didn't get one. Hope to find one kicking around. Always on the lookout for a Union Jack Supernova too. So far no luck. Again, glad you're back!!! Let's see how many more we can get "back in to the studio." Cheers and take care! Hi: In January you left a note on my talk page regarding this article, and its potential for becoming FA. It is now at FAC, so any comments would be welcome. --HJensen, talk 13:38, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Want to team up like old times?

I see we have several hundred un-assessed articles within the project. Remember the time I started at the Zs and you started from the As and we tried to meet in the middle adding assessments to all our project articles. How about teaming up and doing that with me again? I browsed the list last week. Frankly I don't feel a few of them should even be tagged with our project template. But that's my opinion. A few of my project invitations have paid off and I see a new crop of active editors plugging away at guitar pages. I see a few new names as well. I may have sent them an invite already but will double check that they have heard of the Project and know how to find the key pages. Let me know when you're around. Cheers and take care! 67.103.105.208 (talk) 00:43, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Whoops. That was me. Forgot to log in. Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 00:45, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Yet another new member to the Guitarist Project. I really need to work on a formal welcome. Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 15:03, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
