Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Spikitiger", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because the use of the string "spik" makes it seem as if you are trying to get the ethnic slur "spic" past the filter. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Daniel Case (talk) 15:19, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Daniel.

I must say that, until you informed me of it, I did not know that 'spic' was a racial slur so, hence, did not spell it differently to get it past the filter. My username comes from my e-mail address, created when I was five by my mother. She called it 'Spikitiger' as a play on the words 'spiky' and 'tiger', a nickname she used to call me. I would also add that Spikitiger is a name that I use on multiple websites and forums and nobody has ever contacted me or claimed offence before.

Given my explanation, I hope that you will understand my desire to keep this username,

Yeah, no problem. I'll assume good faith here and give you the OK. You might consider giving a brief background on your username on your userpage just to avoid any potential confusion or drama. But, yeah, this shouldn't be a problem. Welcome to Wikipedia and don't hesitate to ask me on my my talk page or the help desk should you have any questions.
