Kenora Thistles FAC
Hey, I've had Kenora Thistles at FAC for a while now, and am afraid it's going to close without enough action again. As you had reviewed it during the GAC, I was wondering if you'd be interested in taking another look. It would be much appreciated. Kaiser matias (talk) 03:11, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll leave comments. Though, it might be better if you also asked someone who regularly participates in FAC reviews to help out (e.g. someone who has commented on your previous FACs, or other sports articles). Sportsfan77777 (talk) 03:58, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- Looks like they archived it on me, which is a shame, as that's the second time now it's happened. I'm planning to put it up for a third (and hopefully final) time in two weeks, I hope you can maybe leave some comments then. And I'll definitely solicit some other reviews prior as well, thanks for the advice. Kaiser matias (talk) 04:25, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

Sportsfan77777, Kosack graciously reviewed Lee Joannes for WP:GA and it passed. You had made a comment on similar articles that you reviewed for WP:GA for me though regarding Green Bay Packers, Inc. vs. Green Bay Football Corporation. I was wondering if you would take a quick look and let me know what you would recommend. Joannes is a little different than the other presidents of the Packers, in that GBFC became GBP, Inc. during his tenure. In this instance, I think it is ok to mention both names. Let me know what you think. Thanks, « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 16:11, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- I agree it is a little different. If it were me writing the article, I would say something like, "Joannes owned a wholesale grocery store and was the fourth president of the Green Bay Football Corporation. He helped reorganize the corporation into Green Bay Packers, Inc., the non-profit organization that owns the Packers football franchise." This way, it (1) emphasizes his role, (2) clarifies what Green Bay Packers Incorporated is, and (3) doesn't repeat Green Bay or Packers too many times in one sentence. Overlap on main tennis articles?
Usually, when we split off a career stats article, the only thing we leave on the main page are singles stats (unless the player only played doubles). Martina Navratilova, Margaret Court, and Billie Jean King were done this way. Why are you bringing over Suzanne Lenglen's charts from her career stats article? They were moved there for a reason long ago. And the only performance timeline should also be singles Grand Slam events (and in her case also a singles World Championship timeline). Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:40, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- What is that reason? There is no guideline to only leave the singles results on the main page. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 07:02, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- No specific guideline, true. There are lots of things that aren't specific guidelines. But consensus has been that when we split the article into two, the bulk of prose is on the main page and all the charts are on the statistics page. We require a small performance timeline for singles Grand Slam tournaments on the main page, and also often have the table-ized finals of those same singles Grand Slam events. But not all the other charts. Otherwise why are we creating a statistics page to begin with? We could always merge the two pages back together again. Fyunck(click) (talk) 08:01, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- There is no clear consensus on what to leave on the main page once the career statistics page is created. For different players, it's going to be different. We already double up the "small performance timeline for singles Grand Slam tournaments". That's not a good reason to merge the pages, or avoid doubling info. If you take away the Grand Slam doubles and mixed doubles finals, you're making it look like that player was just a singles player. That's way too misleading. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 08:13, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- We're creating the statistics page for the full list of titles and finals. You know that. The most important titles and finals belong on the main page. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 08:13, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- There has been consensus on this for a long long time by usage. I didn't create that consensus, everyone else did. All those mixed doubles charts have always been on the stats page. You need to convince us on the article talk page that they should be there. You have been around long enough to know this. I'll check the project talk page to see if something more specific is talked about. Fyunck(click) (talk) 08:36, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- We disagree on what the consensus is. You think the consensus is to keep only one performance timeline on the main page depending on whether the player is predominantly a singles player or a doubles player. I think the consensus is to include both the singles and doubles performance timelines, but only when they are each important. We agree on what the consensus is when a player has only had a singles career or only had a doubles career, but disagree on what the consensus is for players that have had both. There are fewer examples of players with both, and most of these examples have not been well-maintained, so it's hard to tell from any example pages. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 08:56, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- Usually, only one performance table is present, this is true. I will admit that Lenglen is a special player... perhaps the greatest of all-time. Most players need only have that single performance table, not the other tables on their main article. So it's one thing to have multiple performance tables for those very special cases, but it's quite another to include all the other tables. That's why we moved that stuff to statistics page. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:04, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- However, I compromised on the simple Grand Slam tournament performance charts. She is a special case for those particular charts. The rest of the info really belongs on the stats page. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:17, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

Lenglen 341-7 record
There is no source in the article for the change you made. Sports Illustrated and Tennis Magazine also uses 341-7 and we have confirmation with it in a match by match listing at this moderated website. If the Little book also has a listing can you compare that list to the tennis forum list and see where the discrepancy lies? Fyunck(click) (talk) 08:13, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
- I have checked that. The discrepancies lie in some of the walkovers mistakenly being counted as wins. The clearest example of this is 1912, when she only played one tournament. She won two matches and lost one, but one of the "wins" was a walkover. So her record should be listed as 1–1 for 1912, but it is listed as 2–1. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 08:39, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
