Country abbreviations[edit]

I've just noticed that you used the triliteral abbreviation "AUS" for "Austria" in the article on the 1934 FIFA World Cup. "AUS" will give you the flag icon of Australia, as against "AUT" for Austria. You may want to do a quick double-check with the Preview button when making changes like these (although I'm sure the Socceroos wouldn't mind a bit). BigHaz 11:46, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Team Templates[edit]

Hi there, I was just wondering how you made the template that appears at the bottom of the page for every Galatasaray player. I had noticed them for the Fenerbahce and Besiktas players also, and I was hoping to make one for Trabzonspor. Thanks for any information.

Petit[edit]

Sorry to bother, but why did you change Petit to Armando Teixeira? If that is a wikipedia policy, please change Pelé to Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Eusébio to Eusébio da Silva Ferreira and Nuno Gomes to Nuno Miguel Soares Pereira Ribeiro. Joaopais 23:06, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Football AID 16 July - 23 July[edit]

Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.

FA Cup Final has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.

International Squad Templates[edit]

Just said I would tell you about this. A trend has started on wikipedia lately of doing each country's world cup squad going back for years. This is turning into a bit of a problem as certain players have played in numerous world cups. Just look at Paolo Maldini

My solution is redoing these international templates with a "Hide" features. I've done a very basic job on one of them below.

{{World Cup Squads}}

I'm not as yet able to add the country's flags or increase the size of the writing. I'm not able to change the colour of "Hide" either. Just wondering if you want to have a go at improving it so it can be used in articles ?

If you want to contribute please post your replies at the discussion section at Template:World Cup Squads

NCAA winner logos[edit]

I like the team logos you put on all the NCAA Basketball pages, but I think they'd be better as succession boxes. See 2007 French Open for an example. --dantheox 17:18, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:7486827 gal.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:7486827 gal.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:35, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LA Galaxy[edit]

Squadoosh, as of an hour ago...the logo was still the old Green and Yellow one. Now that the logo has been unveiled on the official page I have no objection to leaving it. No need to shout! Batman2005 21:29, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I saw it up there too and everytime I reload the page it still shows the new logo on the Galaxy page. I don't mind posting it if it's been shown on the Galaxy page. But people using "shopadidas" for sources is about as dumb as the people who bought the #5 Reggie Bush jerseys on nfl.com the night of the draft. Batman2005 21:35, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:AngolaFootballFederation.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 03:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Argentina national football team logo.png[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Argentina national football team logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:24, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Featured Article image issue.[edit]

Hello, I've recently been trying to get Croatia national football team promoted to Featured Article status, but one of the main concerns that arise at the review is the use of suspicious images. Among some small others, your image (Image:Soccer.Field Transparant.png) seems to gain heavy attention. The reviewers are disputing me over the possibility that this image is copyrighted and NOT self-composed like you have tagged it. Would you please care to help resolve this issue? You can reply here or anywhere else you want, just as long as I have some evidence from you saying that you did indeed create this image yourself and it is freely used. THANKS! Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Squadoosh! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Fair use rationale for File:Arms-nottinghamshire.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Arms-nottinghamshire.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:28, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Croatia football federation.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Croatia football federation.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
