DYK nomination of Paige (wrestler)

Hello! Your submission of Paige (wrestler) at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Storye book (talk) 09:19, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi Storye book, thanks for the alert, yet I'm not the nominator, that's FairyTailRocks. I might be able to improve the article maybe 18 hours from now, but I'm afraid the QPQ has to be done by FairyTailRocks. starship.paint "YES!" 13:52, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. I have messaged FairyTailRocks. --Storye book (talk) 19:35, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Money in the Bank

Hi Starship.paint! I'd be happy to read through the article and offer comments, but I won't get too involved as I'd like to be able to !vote at the next FAC. :) ceranthor 17:59, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Are you satisfied with the copyedit? If so, I'll archive your request. All the best, Miniapolis 23:10, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
Firstly, thanks for the copy-edit, Valfury.
Secondly, Miniapolis, I really have no idea whether the article is satisfactory. I've contributed the most text to the article, so naturally the prose seemed fine to me even before the copy-edit. It was another user who said the prose was clunky. Could you give your opinion instead? starship.paint ~ regal 09:15, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
I'm in the middle of another copyedit, but will leave a request for a double-check on the requests page; it takes a while to learn the ropes of copyediting. All the best, Miniapolis 13:34, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
Much appreciated Miniapolis :) starship.paint ~ regal 13:44, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Invisible

Returning to memory lane, after the successful DYK mentioned above, did you know that I wrote about something invisible? (almost as many hits as when it appeared on DYK, and there's another day) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:17, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

I would say that the DYK hook was excellent, because it didn't actually explain what an invisible rail was. Naturally, people are going to be curious and want to find out. Is there something else which is invisiblethat I missed? Anyway, I think it's enough DYKs for me now (but one is being nominated by another user). I just wanted to get DYKs for my newly created articles, and that's done. Only an FA left, I guess. starship.paint ~ regal 14:18, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
Nice "which is" ;) - That 2011 hook was excellent, only I couldn't copy it now because in German the bird's name is not "Invisible" but "Drummer". It's planned here as TFA on 1 April 2015. - I miss the excellent DYK author. He left a few days after that DYK, did you know? (It was the one time that I screamed.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:32, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, the German name is a missed opportunity. 1 April would certainly be a hot date for jokes! Sad about that editor. But sometimes I wonder, why do some established editors (I don't mean BlueMoonset) break rules? starship.paint ~ regal 02:22, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
Good question, but unrelated. He left because people thought he was someone else, they didn't believe him that he wasn't. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:23, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
Yes, apparently so, and that "someone else" was a rule breaker, perhaps? Sad... but anyway, congrats on your Germany DYK. It's a worthy tribute! starship.paint ~ regal 11:34, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
Someone else was Rlevse, who proclaimed me an awesome Wikipedian. He left over a copyvio accusation, TFA Grace Sherwood, Halloween 2010. Both had not broken things. Even IF BarkingMoon was the same, no damage would have been done, see my model for a clean presentation of achievements. But he wasn't the same, or I can't tell a man from a boy ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:24, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
ps: 13k hits for the bird! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:25, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
I see, I hadn't realized Rlevse was your inspiration for your Precious prizes. Congrats on your 13k - though I must say, the German DYK is much more prominent than the English on the Main Page. Also, congrats on 7-1, with my two teams (Netherlands and Croatia, and all of Asia) out, I'm rooting for Germany! starship.paint ~ regal 14:28, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
He was inspired by Phaedriel, list started in 2007, she assigned a poem to each recipient! He took the pic of the sapphire, which had even more hits on the German Main page (34k), as the alleged witch (almost 30k), - I translate for the missed ones ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:35, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
  • I'm glad that you're continuing spreading Wikilove, which apparently Phaedriel valued. :) Pardon me... when I read that he took the sapphire picture, my first thought was wondering how much did it cost. >_> starship.paint ~ regal 06:23, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you Gerda, I have asked. Very interesting about your tributes on de.wiki! :) starship.paint ~ regal 08:47, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Did you notice the question on the Signpost talk? - I forgot to mention the mathematician (don't miss the top of the page) ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:12, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Yes Gerda, I did notice the Signpost talk. I have come across the Kiefer.Wolfowitz case before, long after it was closed. Sigh. So drawn-out. starship.paint ~ regal 12:10, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

MITB 2011

Hi Starship. I've been following your nominations for awhile but I've never done a review before as I've been hesitant to start until I know for sure what I'm doing. I'll be going on vacation in a few days so I won't be back for two weeks or so. I'll read up some more on it and I'll let you know when I get back. Fortunately the article has been in your capable hands for quite some time and I see Will guided you through the GA process so it shouldn't be much work. Thanks.LM2000 (talk) 19:00, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

I left a few comments just now actually :) LM2000 (talk) 00:17, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Great, thank you so much LM2000! I'll try to address your comments soon. The peer review will be open for some time so by the time you're back, I hope to nominate it as a Featured Article, the timeline should be fine. starship.paint ~ regal 02:51, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Hopefully I can throw my support in that discussion as well. As you can tell both Hulk and I were a little confused as to how this process goes. Hopefully we can get even more of these through once we get used to it.LM2000 (talk) 03:19, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, frankly I'm new to FA as well. Not your fault that you are unfamiliar - the project has shrunk and thus has largely moved away from GAs / FAs. starship.paint ~ regal 04:10, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Suffering from autoblock

@Daniel Case: - could you help me? I have on/off access... Thank you! {{unblock-auto|Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Busadss". The reason given for Busadss's block is: " Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully. Why can't I edit Wikipedia? Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy. Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username? Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. What can I do now? If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead. If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following: Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must: Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked. If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. IP block exempt

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. PhilKnight (talk) 07:57, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much PhilKnight, I appear to be able to edit just fine now. starship.paint ~ regal 08:14, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
