May 2010[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. [1] MER-C 10:44, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. MER-C 10:50, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for continuing to add spam links. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. – B.hoteptalk• 11:01, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

According to Wikipedia policy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links#What_should_be_linked - Sites that contain neutral and accurate material that is relevant to an encyclopedic understanding of the subject and cannot be integrated into the Wikipedia article due to copyright issues, amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics) should be linked to. The Association of Football Statisticians national team sites clearly fall within the category of external links which should be added. Apologies for not noticing the warning which came shortly before I was blocked.

Decline reason:

WP:SPAM and WP:LINKFARM. 11v11.com is the website for the so-called "association of football statisticians", officially operating as "AFS Enterprises" - a corporate entity. Membership is required to access many of the features, and membership does not require specific classification as a statistician. The collection there would not likely meet WP:RS. Continued addition of SPAM links is valid block (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:25, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Reviewing admin, see also [2]. The website in question requires a subscription fee payment to retrieve any useful information and to join the forum. – B.hoteptalk• 11:42, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not true - none of the national sites linked to requires a subscription.(Statisticus (talk) 12:29, 26 May 2010 (UTC))[reply]
I'm sure you guys are peforming a useful function for wikipedia, even whilst removing invaluable links, but you should really check the edits you revert, and the content of the links - one of my edits was to remove vandalism, which doesn't look very professional.(Statisticus (talk) 13:09, 26 May 2010 (UTC))[reply]
