Bibliotheca Alexandrina
[edit]I looked at several edits to this article, all were copyright issues. Surely, as a librarian, you understand the need to respect copyright.--S Philbrick(Talk) 01:16, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
- We run copyright detection software. And your edits have been flagged. If you want to release the source documents under an open license that can make it easier. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:31, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
I have used entirely reputable sources, mostly directly from the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, or articles discussing it. I have cited every word that was used and all of the sources are clearly there. What source documents need to be released? I have used scholarly journals and websites, all documented. Stephbarth (talk) 16:26, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
- I urge you to read Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources. Long sections of text from other sources are almost never appropriate. Citing the source is not sufficient. The material should almost always be rewritten in your own words. There may be times it is appropriate to include the exact wording of the source, but in those cases the material should be set off in quotation marks or included in block quotes. In almost all cases the should be short quotations.--S Philbrick(Talk) 12:50, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
