Fair use image[edit]

Hello! I noticed that you had Image:Jyllands-Posten Muhammad drawings.jpg shown on your user page. The image is uploaded under a fair use provision, and Wikipedia policy states that fair use images should not be displayed on any pages outside the main (article) namespace, including user pages. Would you mind removing the image or simply linking to it? (Add a ":" in from of the image, like this: [[:Image:Jyllands-Posten Muhammad drawings.jpg]]) Thanks a lot! Arabic script[edit]

Benbrika and Hilaly are Australian citizens, and Australia uses the Roman alphabet. It is therefore not appropriate that their names be rendered in Arabic script. Adam 11:21, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heidi Choat - Photo[edit]

Hey Steve. Thanks for suggesting a photo for my article on sex offender Heidi Choat. I would love to add a pic, but the only one I have is not good quality and is scanned from a newspaper article, so I'm not sure that I'm allowed to place it on Wikipedia. I see you tried to do the same hack which was tried before with {{title}}. It doesn't work correctly in all skins (and has other problems), so I have reverted and redirected {{title-left}} to {{wrongtitle}}. Just look at it with any skin other than monobook (append ?useskin=skin to the address to test; for instance [1]). See Wikipedia:Catalogue of CSS classes for the full list of skins; I tested with all of them, and it works only on Monobook. It also makes it harder to copy the name of the page, causes wrong results when previewing, gives different results on article view versus other views (history, for instance), makes the name different on the Talk page, and could hide the special icons next to it (the Featured Article star and the Spoken icon). The other skins will not be removed just because of a ugly hack not working with them; the right thing to do is to remove the ugly hack and implement it correctly.

As to who I am, it shouldn't matter; a Wikipedia administrator is nothing more than a normal editor with a few extra capabilities (such as deletion and blocking). Since none of these extra capabilities are involved, I do not need to be a Wikipedia administrator to revert a misguided change, and to explain why I did it. This is a fictional character created in the USA. Most likely, his name has never ever been written in the Arabic script. (Just for record, it would be عبد القمر.)

yes my friendly steve, i am not the one who is confused here , you are. they are from aegean macedonia, thats a part of macedonia wich only now belongs to greece. did you know that Aegean macedonia became a Greek part after 1913?? did you know that before 1913 the aegean part of macedonia was 80% inhabitated with macedonians rather than greeks and after the annexation they were either forced to claim theirselves greek, or forced to leave the country? many of those refugees fled to australia, thats probably the reason why stan lazaridis's family came to australia. did you know that after the 1913 annexation of macedonia to greece, that all macedonian cities, villages and peoples surnames were forbidden, and had to be changed into greek names?? did you know that? of course you didnt, so please learn before you talk. his ancestors were forced to change their backname by the greeks, not just his family but all macedonian families in ?Aegean Macedonia. and some for example the family of stan lazaridis have kept their new name. Last month Greece played a friendly football match against Australia [2]. Stan Lazaridis was cheered by Australian Greeks as a fellow Australian Greek and the Greek team, namely Georgios Seitaridis, treated him as such. One must presume that since user Makedonia identifies with Lazaridis, he must be Greek himself.

Hey... (Bosnia)[edit]

I have noticed that you have changed the redirect for "Bosnia." It used to redirect to "Bosnia and Herzegovina," now it redirects to "Bosnia (region)". Honestly I do not think that it makes more sense, since most (almost all) of the people that type in Bosnia want to get to the article "Bosnia and Herzegovina." Due to the fact that Wikipedia's based on agreements, I think that there should be a vote for this issue.

Re: Flag of Germany during 1934[edit]

Hi Steven X, thanks for commenting on the issue. There have been ongoing reverts with this issue. In the article you provided me it says:

...When the Nazis came to power in 1933 the black-red-gold flag was entirely removed and replaced with the black-white-red, though they would eventually, on September 15, 1935, replace virtually all German governmental flags with designs based on the swastika flag that had been their party flag.

So then the Weimar and the Swastika flags are both legit at the time. However, according to the article at German Wikipedia, it says that the Weimar Republic flag was used for trade and international purposes ("National- und Handelsflagge"), while the Swastika flag was only used domestically ("Zivilflagge"). I have gone to the German Wikipedia and posted the question on the talk page regarding the matter just be sure. Ironically, as I was skimming I noticed that the FIFA World Cup article has the Weimar Republic flag in it, but the FIFA World Cup in 1934 has the Third Reich flag. If you want to check it out, I posted it here, though I'm not sure if that's any help to you. I have told them to contact me on my talk page, so I will report the latest from them, and then we can jointly go and alert the editors at the article if it needs changing. This user has not had any vandal warnings, so are they a vandal? If they have vandalised, you can report them to WP:AIV once you have reached {{test4}} on their Talk page. If you have done this then the response time should be fairly short. Leaving messages on individual admins' Talk pages may incur a delay due to timezone differences, as they may be asleep or away from their computers. have you heard of User:Jackp? i am familiar with his editing styles and the film articles are all the same. Jackp (btw, Jack is Raptor's real name apparently) caused great trouble on various city pages particularly Sydney. Regarding DH and TH for the voiced dental fricative and voiceless dental fricative . I would have used C instead and maybe a CH as well to seperate the two.

Hey Steven, no, I didn't: J as in you > ju(u) As in other Germanic languages. /j/ Of course I never thought anyone would actually use this system (although I did sometimes use it myself)

I didn't want to use c in this system coz it's one of the most ambiguous letters of English spelling.
