October 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Talk:Kent Hovind. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are welcome to rephrase your comment as a civil criticism of the article. Thank you. Jesstalk|edits 03:26, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What was uncivil? - people said that I was saying something that I didn't say...they didn't respond to any points I raised..instead they kept going on about the kent hovind articles length having no bearing and I must provide reliable sources .. blah blah... when I was referring to RELEVANCE and comparible IMPORTANCE - the kend hovind article is full of trivia about his court proceedings and copy right claims he has on his videos etc etc....I made the point that while true is it comparible to having a page on tom cruise dedicated to tom cruises flying abilities... It's SILLY that is all....But Don't WORRY I won't post anything to the page anymore unless it is short and civil... as i know people are VERY passionate about their hatred of this man.... At this point it would be easier to point out what was civil than what wasn't. For instance, this whole rant is completely out of line and falls under WP:PA. This was your warning, so I'd suggest taking the opportunity to read through WP:PA, WP:AGF and WP:CIVIL. As long as you follow those from here on out we don't have a problem. All the best, Jesstalk|edits 16:11, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for those links...we have no problems...I haven't had a chance to read everything here yet...I'll keep a low profile from now on and just stick to editing my page on Stokes Valley. ;-) cheers!Steveswikiedits (talk) 12:58, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to New Zealand. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article.   — Jeff G.  ツ 03:53, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that information that is verified on another page is VERIFIABLE...also the wiki guidelines state that you don't need to cite source for "mars is a planet" because it is common knowledge like wise it is common knowledge that New Zealand means "new sea land", and that the south Island was called "the main land" - but if I'm gonna cause trouble by using common sense then I'll leave those pages alone.......but I WAS FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES.....anyway have a nice day...Steveswikiedits (talk) 11:42, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please[edit]

Please, if you are going to accuse other editors of being 'rediculous' spell the word correctly. It's 'ridiculous'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.155.11.200 (talk) 08:37, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
