Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Hong Kong Police Force. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Clubjustin Talkosphere 08:01, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Clubjustin. I must disagree with you. First of all the correct name for the police force in Hong Kong is the "Hong Kong Police" -- the suffix "Force" is commonly used but it is not part of its official name. The heading on the Force's official website is also wrong and should be corrected. You obviously never served in the RHKP or HKP or you would know better. Secondly, the original entry for the Force's post war reputation uses poorly written English, is subjective in tone and factually misleading. I will add citations to back my edited version. I will continue to correct the page. I am not vandalizing it.

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Clubjustin Talkosphere 08:25, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Clubjustin. I am not being disruptive. It seems that you cannot accept constructive corrections. You should maintain a more open, balanced, less-biased perspective on history. Also, please check your facts. Thank you.

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion for HK Police Page[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Stoatmonster reported by User:Citobun (Result: ). Thank you. Citobun (talk) 09:32, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Citobun I have replied and lodged a counter complaint against you. --Stoatmonster (talk) 10:17, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Stoatmonster: On what grounds? I'm not the one edit warring. Please review Wikipedia:Citing sources. The onus is on you to cite a reliable source. Citobun (talk) 10:56, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Citobun. Indeed, I will cite sources if you refrain from reversing my edits, which I'm sure you'll appreciate, makes you guilty of your own charge against me! Stop being such a puritanical pain in the derriere please! Read the content of my edits and if you have a different opinion, then please comment constructively. Thank you, --Stoatmonster (talk) 11:03, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OK, eagerly awaiting a reliable source that demonstrates that the website of HKPF got their own name wrong. Citobun (talk) 11:11, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Citobun:. Sincere apologies, I was confusing your handle with [User:Clubjustin|Clubjustin]] who complained against me; not you! Please accept my apology. Thanks! :-) --Stoatmonster (talk) 11:17, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Stoatmonster. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Hong Kong Police Force, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Citobun (talk) 14:09, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Citobun:: Thanks for your welcome note and for pointing me to the COI rules. I have read the rules and can assure you that I have no such COI. In a former life, I once served in the RHKP but left the organisation more than a decade ago. I am now an ordinary tax-paying citizen working in Hong Kong's private sector.Stoatmonster (talk) 01:37, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the clarification @Stoatmonster:. Citobun (talk) 02:24, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

March 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Citobun. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Claudia Mo, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please explain why you keep adding "controversial" to the lede. Thanks.
