HI there, I see your point regarding the 1992 consensus. After looking over the section, it seems to me that readding the DPP position that talks should start without precondition would be worthwhile. I feel that the way it was worded seemed to have an anti-PRC bias, in that it implies the 1992 consensus did not exist and/or was a fraud. I am aware that whether it existed or not, and how relevant it is, are hotly disputed topics that are covered in its own article. So my rationale was to keep the link to the 1992 consensus article, and have the section point to the PRC's insistence on a one-China policy as the main focus. (The PRC has repeatedly stated that all topics can be discussed under the framework of one China, and if the 1992 consensus was real, then it probably would accept its formulation as a framework for talks.)Ngchen 02:38, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
