I have nominated Sam jordison, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sam jordison. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. HarlandQPitt (talk) 02:24, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. I'm sure with a little work you can improve the article to meet Wikipedia's standards. About a year ago I started an article for a little known author and secret service agent known as U. E. Baughman. When I started off, there was really no definitive source on him and a lot of the information that was to be found was scattered. What I did was compile it together and paraphrase while citing sources to give credit where it was due. If you compare the article a year ago to the article today you can see the difference in quality, readability, and Wikipedia formatting. If in June 2008 you googled the term "U. E. Baughman" the fact that he had written a book would be the most prominent if not the only results. Now the article is the number one search result and has been mirrored by a number of other sites. Start by categorizing your information and grouping like statements and achievements together to give your article better flow. Look at the way other articles are organized. If you like the way something is done, especially for someone in similar category, feel free to copy the formatting. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Sam jordison a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.
