please either discuss or report usernames, not both

I just blocked User:Hilitebikes because you correctly identified them as a promotional account and reported them to WP:UAA. When I went to add a block notice to their talk page, I found you had asked them to discuss the matter with them [1] even though you had reported them a minute earlier [2]. This sort of thing makes Wikipedia seem schizophrenic to these users, like we can't decide whether to discuss or to block. Frankly, this puts the blocking admin in an uncomfortable position since you have just asked them to discuss the matter, then we deny them that discussion and issue a block. I'm not suggesting you stop reporting usernames, we can use all the help we can get finding and blocking spammers, just please choose one course of action or another. With spammers who have written a spam article or userpage and have the same name as the entity they are trying to advertise, I think you will find that they are almost always blocked, as spamming is a serious problem and spammers need to be sent a clear and forceful message that such activity is not welcome on Wikipedia. Anyway, keep up the good work identifying and reporting spammers! Beeblebrox (talk) 19:52, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the compliment and I now understand what you are saying. Next time I come across a name like Hilitebikes, I will consider the options more carefully. SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 19:55, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

HBC AIV helperbot7 removed your report against Highdeeboy since he's already blocked. I got the impression that he was asking you for help against me (he's accused me of stalking him since I've undone his OR edits on related articles, as if checking on a user's contributions to make sure they don't continue to make OR edits is forbidden). Ian.thomson (talk) 21:58, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I reported him after what he wrote on his talk page against me. I saw the edit that the IP did to you and I could already see that he was a disruptive editor. At least he got his ban but I advise you look out for the IP as it is still at large and store that IP for future reference as he may return. Regards, SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 22:00, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on "the regency hotel kuwait", requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Jarkeld (talk) 12:34, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the page and then added a speedy after as it looked like an ad. SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 12:35, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Was going to tag the article as is but your move beat me to it. Jarkeld (talk) 12:39, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Altered speedy deletion rationale: The Difficult Couple

Hello SuperSonicSpeed, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted The Difficult Couple, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Tikiwont (talk) 13:38, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

About Nominating Admins (Not myself)

First, is there any unoffical standard on experience of people who nominate for RFAs?

If there is not, please answer my second question.

There's a user that I really think deserves to become an admin, but has been rejected in two RFAs previously. The most recent was a unanimous "No". That was in early 2008 and nearly made the user leave the project. I'm concerned that, if rejected this time, he might leave the project this time for good, and I don't want that to happen. Can you help me figure out what to do? Rin tin tin 1996 (talk) 16:20, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Usually they expect approx. 3000 constructive edits for somebody to become an admin. If you think that this user really deserves to be an admin then nominate them because since the last failed nomination, they would have just carried on editing and that was 2 years ago. I suggest before making a decision you talk to the person you wish to nominate to see how they feel about this. Regards, SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 18:45, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I meant is there any unoffical standard on experience of people who nominate others for RFAs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rin tin tin 1996 (talkcontribs) 19:08, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, as far as I know anybody can nominate others. SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 19:45, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think what I'm actually trying to ask is if they will take the opinion of an admin in good standing more seriously then a newer editor like me. Does that matter at all, or does it depend more on the candidate? Rin tin tin 1996 (talk) 01:35, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rollbacker

Hi. I've been looking over your contributions and you certainly seem to do good work here. While you're still relatively new, I've gone ahead and issued you rollback rights. Please be very careful with the privilege - it can be easily lost. I recommend you carefully read up on the what you should do and should not do with rollback, then practice here before using it. I'm confident you'll use it wisely. If for some reason you don't want it, let me know and I'll revert.

You may wish to display {{User rollback}} on your user page. Happy editing. Toddst1 (talk) 06:18, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why thank you very much, I'm privaliged to have this and I will not abuse it. SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 07:38, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

About some weird revert you have done to SD tags

Hi. It seems that we have been adding SD tags to the same articles. I really don't mind as long as the article gets deleted. But in this revision [3] of the The Society of Orpheus and Bacchus article, you actually deleted my SD tag first, and then reposted it. I'm just writing to check if you erroneously reverted me and the readded the tag. You also deleted a welcome and SD notice I left at the talk page of the author. Again, I'm just checking that you are not actually reverting me on purpose. Thanks.--Legion fi (talk) 21:29, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was accidental. I was checking when the creator removed the tag and I accidently erased yours so I put it back up. Apologies for the inconvinience. Regards, SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 21:30, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no problem. Just checking :) Also, thank you for your efforts patrolling RC. --Legion fi (talk) 21:35, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question about these images...

Is it allowed under our fair use policy to upload images from the 2010 Olympics website? Rin tin tin 1996 (talk) 00:12, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No as the images have come from the internet. If you took the images yourself then it will be allowed but due to copyright law, they will say no to imjages from the site. SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 06:52, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not becoming like them

Note your latest edit and then take your time to go read up on point number 9, 12 & 51 of WP:OWB. Correct me if you think I'm wrong but my instinct tells me that you are fast becoming like one of them, if you don't tread carefully from now on. Other than that, no harm done... Cheers~! --Dave ♠♣♥♦1185♪♫™ 04:36, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll remove the edit so that suspicions are not raised. Thanks for looking out :) SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 15:53, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

How's about you email me with your opinions on this 'Georgie Gibbons' case that you've been working on here on WP? - Alison 03:20, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't filed any reports on this guy but I do know that he has had a history of vandalism, on and off Wikipedia (most notably Sega and IGN forums). His most recent sock, The Estate of Georgie Gibbons, made it blatently obvious that he is alive and is stirring up trouble (with a name like that, it's blatently a vandalism only account as well as a duck). It is pathetic and if you want, I can have a word with the forum admins/mods and email you the details. Regards, SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 07:39, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's not exactly what I was referring to, though, but if you want to discuss it here. These accounts;
... are both yours. The stuff on this page is all your doing.12 You've been repeatedly logging out to play around. This GEORGIEGIBBONS weirdness, asking editors for sex, lol, was actually you. Even funnier was that you removed it eight minutes later and that it was you who added a warning to the page a minute before 'Mr. Gibbons' arrived. When you left this talkback message, you then went on to forge a block message in User:Peter Symonds name. You even created a sockpuppet report on your own Mr Roots (talk · contribs) account.
My ultimate question is; what exactly are you playing at here?? - Alison 18:25, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WTF? I didn't even control those accounts. My IP may have been used by another user when I was logged out so that he/she could do this. I'm using an IP which anybody can get onto. I recently let my friend use it meaning that he may know about this. I didn't do this at all and if I wanted to stalk others, vandalise etc., then I would have used my own account but I didn't and as I admit not being Gibbons, I am innocent. SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 18:30, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, actually. All these edits came from the same computer that you're using right now, and across multiple IP addresses. The fact that there is no edit overlap and you have been involved on these pages both before and after the vandalism and on the same IP kinda sums it up, y'know? Nor are your IP addresses shared. Want to tell me what's really going on here now? - Alison 18:49, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WHAT AN x —Preceding unsigned comment added by Charles133 (talkcontribs) 18:53, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the previous SPI for GG, Luk said the IP is a dynamic range and blocking it would affect innocent users. SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 18:55, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't blank an ongoing conversation on your talk page, least of all one relating to your abuse of multiple accounts. You're now autoblocked, BTW, as the 'vandal' above is on your IP address. Guess you'll need a new IP .. again - Alison 19:04, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This one works fine thanks :) Regards, SuperSonic SPEED (formerly known as ChaosControl1994). 19:06, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I notice also that G3O4G13G1BB0NS (talk · contribs) is your account too, and that you've just obtained a new IP. Ok - I've seen enough. I'm indefblocking this account as the sockmaster for this Georgie Gibbons timewasting nonsense and am also applying a short rangeblock. There are surprisingly few other accounts in your range - Alison 19:11, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

Thank you! now that you have decided to do so Id like you to go to the discussion board and confirm that iam right and ask for my editing to be accepted as well as show some support in both pages in order to get the article modified as quick as possible !Highdeeboy (talk) 16:52, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
