Bamidbar[edit]

You asked why the article on Bamidbar (parsha) includes a reference to Bobby Kennedy's GNP speech. The point of Kennedy's speech was that numbers do not tell the whole story about America as he saw it. Similarly, numbers like those in the census portrayed in Bamidbar did not tell the whole story about the Israelites then. And that may be part of the reason why the Torah text often shows hesitation with conducting censuses. -- Dauster (talk) 11:50, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
