Adria Circuit.svg

[edit]

Hey ya SE55, did you create the image Adria_Circuit.svg from the Adria_Circuit.png one I did? If so, what did you use to convert it? Cheers  Esradekan Gibb  "Talk" 02:29, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. I've loaded up more than a couple of these, so I'll head back and convert them, unless you get there first. Cheers and have a great weekend.  Esradekan Gibb  "Talk" 19:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I left a message to say I was going to major edit the article. Why did you consider this as vandalism? I mean the it was one of the reasons it failed GA. LOTRrules (talk) 01:04, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I don't want to cause an edit war but it is irrelavent. I mean I did make the article - check my stats 300 approx edits to it - I wan the article to get featured status and the according to the rules lists are not allowed extensively in one article unless in specific circumstances. Please don't label my edits as vandalistic in the future - thanks. LOTRrules (talk) 01:07, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to remove it. Is that okay with you? LOTRrules (talk) 01:09, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. It's fine - just a minute mistake. Happy editing. LOTRrules (talk) 01:10, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo War

[edit]

My attempts at fixing the Kosovo War article, which is over 90KB long and which is breaking encylopedic style rules and NPOV have been reverted by you. I would like you to undo the reversion so that a proper and much needed editing process on this page can continue. 87.198.21.73 (talk) 01:01, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

I would like to stress that I am not vandalising the Kosovo War page. It is already the end result of a long bought of vandalism, POV and poor editing. I have already posted my intention to make a major edit on the Talk page. I would like to be directed to any wikipedia guide or policy pages that exist for dealing with such a page.87.198.21.73 (talk) 01:10, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I would like to know about image policy, especially in relation to Image:AnonymousDemotivator.jpg. I made a comment to it's IfD page about making an SVG version of it in Inkscape, and if I would be able to release it as a free-use alternative. In fact, I'm unsure of it's current copyright notice because it's from an unknown source, and it's origin is questionable. --SyntaxError55 talk 23:07, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speak to Pagrashtak (talk · contribs), who specialises in images. Thanks, PeterSymonds | talk 23:11, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
User:Pagrashtak hasn't made any contributions since 10 February, but I've left a note on his talk page regardless. :/ --SyntaxError55 talk 23:17, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, try Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use, and leave a note on the talk page. If that doesn't work, we can approach the know-all Wikimedia Commons :) Best, PeterSymonds | talk 23:31, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That project's talk page states "Please do not post queries on individual images here. This talk page is to discuss future WikiProject Fair use policy ONLY." I don't think anyone is really sure about how to proceed, but I'm going to try #wikipedia and #wikimedia-commons. Thanks, --SyntaxError55 talk 23:41, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I received help there, tnulling the helpme template. I can't do it. D: --SyntaxError55 talk 23:48, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Irish phonology images

[edit]

Hi, thanks for converting the PNG images to SVGs. Could you make one change, though? In Image:2C cluster nonmut.svg, could you change ɕ to ʃ? The article originally used ɕ, but I later switched to ʃ, and when I did, the image stayed the same. Thanks! —Angr If you've written a quality article... 06:16, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Post on my talk page

[edit]

Sorry I kept doing that. I am using huggle, and the warnings I gave those two people were to try to slow them down so that I could start at the beginning of their contribs and work through them and revert. You must have beat me to some of the reverts. In the future, I will revert and then warn. I did not anticipate something like this happening, and I apologize for the confusion. J.delanoygabsadds 19:42, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't, unless, like me, you come up with literally hundreds of brilliant-yet-stupid ideas every day... J.delanoygabsadds 19:48, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ВикиЗнание.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ВикиЗнание.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 11:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:XiphophorusLogoSVG.svg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 09:35, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Acetaldehyde-skeletal.svg

[edit]

File:Acetaldehyde-skeletal.svg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Acetaldehyde-skeletal.svg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Acetaldehyde-skeletal.svg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 20:27, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Atmospheric Collision.svg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Atmospheric Collision.svg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:12, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Diethylcathinone.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --ARTEST4ECHO (talk|contribs) 20:08, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Gatorade.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Gatorade.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:AMCstructure.svg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You have been included in my first, and possibly only, Very Early Christmas List!
As an earnest fellow believer in Santa Claus, and possibly in Our Redeemer Liveth as well, you may wonder how you got on this list.
I have no idea!
Actually, I do know: yours was the first signature in my Wikipedia Signature Gallery, as is recorded for posterity in User talk:Athaenara/Gallery#First signature in gallery.
All the best for you and yours this Christmas 2018 and New Year 2019!

Notice

The file File:DJ Fähnlein.svg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused logo for non-notable DJ. Let's have less Nazi imagery just lying around the place, shall we?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 00:41, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
