Multiple category showup[edit]

helpme This is my personal info page: User:TWiStErRob

The userboxes are included from subpages eg: User:TWiStErRob/Skills

And I want not to show up twice (TWiStErRob & TWiStErRob/Skills) eg. in:

UserBox template is like: {{User {}}} What can I do with it?

another questions are:

 • How can I create small macros like this without creating subpages?
 • what does '|Text' means in this content:

I know it's an encyclopedia, but I want to know the language/technology to make the editing easy.

To prevent the subpage from showing up in the category put <includeonly></includeonly> around userboxes on the subpage. Everyting inside those tags will only appear when the page is transcluded into another page.
About the other questions: No, or that is; you obviously need to create a page somewhere, and for stuff like this it's frowned upon if you create them in oter places than as subpages of your own userpage. There is the template namespace naturaly, but it should be reserved for things that a great number of people would find usefull.
In the context given above it will mean that "Text" will replace {} (| is used to pass parameters to transcluded pages), so in this case it would add , though it does not seem very usefull... For the full low-down on all things template related see: Help:Template, or let me know if I've not been clear enough. --Sherool (talk) 19:38, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sorry I misunderstood. In category links the pipe (|) is used to designate as "sort key" (see Help:Category#Sort order). Basicaly by default pages in a category is sorted alphabeticaly (well technicaly they are sorted by Unicode value, but I digress) based on page title (including the namespace prefix), so your userpage will show up under "U" for User:... The sort key can be used to override this so will make the page odtered by "TWiStErRob" rater than "User:TWiStErRob". You could also make the page appear under "X" if you so desired by using , though such arbitrary sorting is generaly not a good idea. --Sherool (talk) 21:57, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

JavaScript RegExp problem[edit]

I noticed you have experience in JavaScript. I'm hoping you can help me with a problem I've run into writing a userscript.

Please see my post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject JavaScript#Nested RegExp.
