Chandler Woodcock

[edit]

Tachyon01, I have done a full summary of Chandler Woodcock several times, but it keeps getting deleted. I was wondering, if you could find out who keeps doing it, using what they call "popups" to delete my article and replace it with trash, I would be thankful. PLEASE, if you can do something to ensure the article on Chandler Woodcock stays in its entirety, I would be grateful. Thank you. :)

  • Your article has been tagged for copyright violations and has been deleted because its not an article. rather, its an advertisement for a political campaign. Wikipedia is not a place for electioneering or advertisement. Please see What Wikipedia is not. I agree with the other editors who have made comments on your talk page, and therefore will take no action. If this article appears again, it will most likely be deleted. I cannot and will not take action to help you in this regard. Tachyon01 21:32, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

nonsense

[edit]

You sir are most certainly a boor. I'm certainly bummed to have crossed paths with you. Having grown up in the area where the sidehill gouger's live I can definitely tell you that the euphemism I added to the page should remain, but hey I don't have the power that you so mightily wield so probably not eh?

  • You added the following to the Sidehill gouger article: 'Could also refer to a fat chick.' That type of addition is what is considered vandalism. We are trying to create and maintain articles solely on factual accuracy. Part of my job is making sure that articles are not vandalised and those which have been vandalised are quickly returned to their normal state. I'm sorry you disagree with this policy. Justin Timberlake

[edit]

I deleted the statement that Justin Timberlake's next album will be called Extra-Ordinary. You reverted it. In fact, the next album will be entitled FutureSex/LoveSounds. Therefore, I was correct.

Thanks, Not A Timberlake Fan, But I Still Know Better Than To Believe Crap

Whether it's true or not, you cannot blank an entire article. Blanking an article is clearly vandalism whether you agree with the information or not. If it is not true, you should copy-edit the article and cite your sources. Tachyon01 04:59, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings once again. I have amended 'Provencher Bridge' with an internal link to 'Glen Murray' as per your statement. On the third line of 'Glen Murray', it clearly states that he was the first openly homosexual mayor o a major North American city. As such my edit on "Provencher Bridge' is accurate. As it is a statement of fact, and not opinion, it is perfectly legitimate to stand in Wikipedia.

Thank you.

Thank you for fixing the vandalism of my user page by User:Ozmodiar.x on June 5, 2006. I just noticed it, so thanks. I never vandalized his. He probably did it because I'm from Minnesota, and he's from Wisconsin, and he apparently hates Minnesota. So, once again thanks. andrew... 04:25, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of beat 'em ups undeletion request

[edit]

I have nominated List of beat 'em ups to be undeleted, under the reasoning that it is not redundant to the category; it contains many games which are not covered by the category, and may never be able to be covered by it. In addition, the list can do more than the category. It can put date, developer, release date, system, et al., useful especially for articles that would be difficult to create an article for. I hope that you will vote on this and hopefully support its undeletion, on the basis that it does something that makes it not redundant to the category. Complex Numbers

[edit]

Was wondering if it'd be meaningful to put the Residue Theory book as a subsection in the Complex Analysis book you've contributed to. Fephisto 20:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey,

I am giving a course on real and complex analysis (20 lectures) and I am writing notes for this course. I am consindering to make this freely here available. The text is written in latex. Is there a way to convert this directly into a wikibook-file?

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Amphoteric thelastbroadcast.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Amphoteric thelastbroadcast.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion of Template:User UCSC

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:User UCSC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

regarding Dan Boyle

[edit]

No trade has officially gone down so I undid the roster changes you made in the meantime. The rumor I'm hearing now is a four-player deal is in the works.

Also some advice when editing the rosters to make it easy on everyone else is to cut Boyle's info from the Tampa roster and vice versa with Carle. That makes sure all info is correct and Boyle is not listed of the two rosters. That is usually how we do it which is hard when some users feel the need to delete UFAs from their last team's roster. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jc121383 (talkcontribs) 17:15, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Hancock Astrophysical Observatory

[edit]

The article Hancock Astrophysical Observatory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Google Web, Books, Scholar, and News searches for "Hancock Astrophysical Observatory" and "Monterey Bay Institute for Space Research" turn up absolutely nothing but WP mirrors. This appears to fail WP:V.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Deor (talk) 21:54, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Amphoteric.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Amphoteric.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 15:45, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Amphoteric (band) for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Amphoteric (band) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Amphoteric (band) (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Mattg82 (talk) 18:23, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Desolation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mattg82 (talk) 23:15, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
