Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with... improving the page I'm editing for HBA Learning Centres (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HBA_Learning_Centres). We're a Registered Training Organisation in Australia and I'd like our SEO to improve through Wikipedia. I've put down the basics but are there any recommendations to create more references/links/information to the page?

Thank you.

Wikipedia is not the place to promote your organization, nor do we engage in SEO. I see no indication that your company meets Wikipedia's standards of notability and have deleted the page accordingly. Some guidelines and policies you may want to read: The Terms of Use regarding paid editing, the guideline on conflicts of interest, and WP:LINKSPAM. Huon (talk) 23:35, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We are not self-promoting anything, I've just read articles about improving SEO with Wikipedia to which I assumed was possible. But if not, it doesn't matter since all we're looking for is a Wikipedia page to have our customers see our page with a simpler layout. I've been reading the Terms of Use but what are the procedures to actually get our page back on Wikipedia? Thank you. Tadface (talk) 23:40, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with... the deletion of the page HBA Learning Centres. What can I do to get it recovered?

Thank you.

Hi. The short answer is: by proving the subject is notable by citing reliable secondary sources, then going to WP:RECALL and getting the original text of the article, then revising it to make it WP:NPOV, then submitting it to WP:AFC. Please see what Wikipedia is not; it is not an advertising platform, SEO tool, or anything of that nature. Thanks, Lixxx235Got a complaint? 03:34, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Moved to userspace

[edit]

I've moved the article to your userspace at User:Tadface/HBA Learning Centres. I normally don't do that for things deleted via WP:A7, but you wrote the article neutrally enough for someone with a conflict of interest. (Normally they're fairly promotional.) The long and short of it is that you have to establish that the college passes notability guidelines per WP:GNG. Degree awarding institutions are generally considered to be notable, although you will have to show that this place awards degrees as opposed to "just" certificates. The best thing you can do is find a lot of coverage in reliable sources that would be independent of the centre itself. Routine notifications or reprints of press releases don't count towards notability. I'd recommend running sources through WP:RS/N, a noticeboard for reliable sources. I also recommend asking for help and guidance via WP:TEAHOUSE. I would recommend that before you post this back to the mainspace, that you ask the deleting admin (User:Huon) if it passes notability guidelines and/or run the article through our WP:AfC process (articles for creation). AfC is a good way for another editor to look over the page and decide if it passes notability guidelines or not. If it fails, you have the ability to fix it and run it through AfC again. I would not recommend returning it to the mainspace before someone looks over the entry. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:15, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also, I want to emphasize the importance of reading over all of the guidelines and seeking help via various editors in places such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities. You can edit with a conflict of interest and so far you've done right by being transparent about this and trying to seek help, but having a good knowledge of the policies here will help you out as far as editing and interactions go. Unfortunately Wikipedia has had a very, very troubled history with people coming on here to do COI/paid editing and wildly abusing the system, so people here are understandably very distrustful of any COI editors. Your draft article, Draft:HBA Learning Centres

[edit]

Hello, Tadface. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "HBA Learning Centres".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13. An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. RichT|C|E-Mail 22:03, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
