Speedy deletion of Ghost-to-Ghost Hookup[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ghost-to-Ghost Hookup requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. From-cary (talk) 19:19, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ghost to Ghost Hookup[edit]

Ah, this one brought back memories. I just wanted to let you know that another editor turned this article into a redirect. In case you didn't know, you still can view the history of the article by typing in the name, then clicking on the small link that will read "Redirected from Ghost to Ghost Hookup". Below this I've put in some Wikipedia reading links in case you wanted to read up more on exactly what went on. Good luck. Xymmax (talk) 19:40, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to Ghost -to-Ghost hookup[edit]

Well, there are a lot of editors who only look at newly-created articles. When they find one, they look to see if the article meets Wikipedia's policies, because many, perhaps even most, new articles do not. One editor thought that your article failed the policy that required enough context and background for the article to exist, and he added tag to the article asking for it to be deleted. I saw the tag, looked at the article, and realized that it did have enough context, so I removed the deletion tag. (The only one who is not allowed to remove the tag is the page's author).

Another editor then came along, and apparently thought that while the article didn't need to be deleted, tht it did not offer anything that did not all ready exist in the The Three Investigators article. That editor created a redirect, so that when you type in "ghost to ghost hookup" you end up at the article for The Three Investigators. My message to you was letting you know what the other folk had done, since it didn't look like they left you any messages about that. Your article still exists, but to access it, you would need to type in Ghost to Ghost Hookup, then, when you get the Three Investigators page, there would be a small link in the upper left hand corner that reads "Redirected from Ghost to Ghost Hookup". If you click on that link, you would see a blank page containing the redirect. However, if you click on the history tab, you would see that your prior version still is there.

You still could restore the old article, however, it would be subject to being challenged for not being within Wikipedia's policies. My guess is that the best solution would be to add a section to the Three Investigators article about the hookup. If you continue to expand that article (and by your name I guess you might be interested in doing that) as the main article gets too big you could spin off the subsections into their own articles.

Hope that long explanation helps some. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Xymmax (talk) 17:19, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I reduced the plot outline length as directed. Am I allowed to remove the plot tag, as I am the creator of the page, or does that have to be done by someone else?

Thanks,

It's okay if you do it yourself. Thanks for trimming it down. It looks much better now. --Anticipation of a New Lover's Arrival, The 22:11, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
