I would love to start a stub on a jamaican football player. But I am so clueless as to where to start, also, I've read all the FAQ's and links to starting an article and stub, and while it is comprehensive it is also confusing.

The first thing to look at is whether or not he is notable. This basically means, has he been the subject of multiple reliable sources, or has he competed at the fully professional level of sport?
If he meets either of those criteria then I'll offer you some help making a page about him. It'd help if you could tell me his name too, please.
Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 19:08, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gariece Mcpherson - google search would reveal MANY links, including inernational websites. He is a Digicel Premier League palyer. His club is mentioned on your websiste as is he. His link is red. HE is a National footballer and is currently in transfer talks for Norway's football clubs.

Great, if you go here then you will be able to enter into the edit box the information that you want displayed in the article. Here's a basic template which you can work around (if you copy and paste it into the article):

Write a little bit about him here ==External links== provide some external links here, in the format: *URL *URL

Let me know if you need any further help. I'll also look over the article once you've made it to see if there're any problems. Sorry for the delay in replying. Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 20:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, sorry that your edit picked up one of the edit filters, would you mind me creating the page for you? Its hard to explain to you how to do it with out tripping the filter, so it'd be easier for me if I could just do it for you, but I don't really mind if you'd rather I explained it. Alright Tamara, lets try this one more time. Please copy and paste all of the following text into Gariece Mcpherson. However, it is very important that you copy the text as you see it now (so don't click "edit this page" and then copy the source of the text, instead copy the text as it appears below):

Gariece McPherson is the current goalkeeper for Portmore United F.C. U-21 team. Even with a tall frame of 6'1", his prowess is evident in the way he dominates the goal. Having been groomed for the game since the tender age of nine, Gariece has enjoyed many years of success with his parish league, club and stints at both the U-17 and U-20 national teams. He has captained the U-21 team of Portmore United several times and proves to be a worthy leader. While never been given the chance to captain the national side, it may not be long before he is given an opportunity to do so.

Gariece, or "Skipper" to his team mates, was recently called upon to represent the Jamaica National U-20 team in the recent CONCACAF U-20 qualifying matches of 2009. The team did not qualify.

How do i add images to articles I've written?

Tamara Blackburn (talk) 15:53, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tamara, I'm most pleased to see that you've been able to get the article up. Before you can actually add a picture to the article you must first upload it to wikipedia, and before you can upload images you need to become autoconfirmed (but more about that later), the first thing to check is whether or not the image complies with copyright laws, basically, it must either be in the public domain, have been taken by you, or fair use must apply. Can you please verify whether or not the image that you want to upload meets any of those criteria? (and if the image is located on the internet, please provide a link). Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 16:00, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I tried attaching the link, however, that link is on a block list. An image for Gariece McPherson can be found on Football-talent.net. {public domain}

Also both pictures I plan to submit, were in fact taken by me.

Tamara Blackburn (talk) 16:44, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, sorry for the delay. To start with, the image must be saved on your computer, once it is the go here (and scroll down), use the browse to locate the file, the destination filename should be descriptive and unique. Once this is all done use the drop-down box under "Licensing" to select the appropriate licensing, one of the CC-BY-SA ones is best. Once that's done click upload. To add the image to the article you will need to use this string of text: . Let me know if you need any further help. help me

I have uploaded two pictures. Where do I find them? How do I add them to my article? (detailed explanataion please)

Tamara Blackburn (talk) 19:07, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Description text
The images you uploaded are File:Gariece McPherson March 2009.jpg and File:Gariece McPherson March 2009 2.jpg. To put the first one in an article, use this code: (replace “Description text” with the real description of the image). The image on right was created with this code. For more information, see Help:Images. Svick (talk) 19:59, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

help me How do I add multiple years and multiple clubs to the info box for the article I'm writing? Gariece McPherson

Tamara Blackburn (talk) 18:54, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As the documentation for Infobox football biography states, you should use <br /> tags. Look at how i changed his national teams:
| nationalyears =2003-2006<br />2006-2009
| nationalteam = Jamaica U-17<br />Jamaica U-20
You can do the same for years and clubs. Svick (talk) 19:22, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
