Fair use rationale for Image:CBTM.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:CBTM.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 20:48, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Image_name.ext listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Image_name.ext, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Alex valavanis 23:41, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated this image for deletion as there is already another image Image:Nocover.png for this purpose in use on many thousands of articles, including several infobox templates. Thanks for contributing to the project. I hope you understand my decision. Alex valavanis 23:41, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Frankieryan.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Frankieryan.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:04, 26 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 19:04, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Frankieryan.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Frankieryan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 19:04, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:TSSLOHM.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TSSLOHM.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. AfD nomination of MusicSquare

[edit]

An editor has nominated MusicSquare, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MusicSquare and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Vanessa Hudgens' 3rd single, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Articles on Hilary Duff album tracks

[edit]

Regarding Dignity (song), Haters (Hilary Duff song), Gypsy Woman (Hilary Duff song): no, songs do not have to have been released as singles for Wikipedia to have articles on them. Read Wikipedia:Notability, which states "A notable topic has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works that are reliable and independent of the subject" - this applies to all three songs, as you'd know if you had read the articles. Defining the notability of a song with the question "Was it a single?" isn't wise: the aforementioned three songs, without being released as singles, attracted more mainstream media attention than Duff's own "The Getaway" or "Supergirl". Further, Wikipedia:Notability (songs) (although defunct) states "a song may deserve an article if there is enough information for it to be spun off from a very long album article". The Hilary Duff (album) and Dignity (album) articles are each over the recommended article size of 30kb, and all the non-trivial information available on "Haters" et al would drown the album articles in unnecessary detail, hence the creation of separate articles.

Note that this does not mean, in response to what you wrote about I Am (Hilary Duff song), that every song promoted on Radio Disney should be given its own article. In addition to the size of Hilary Duff (album), there was enough information on "I Am" in reliable sources to warrant a separate article. As far as I know, there is not enough information on other Radio Disney singles such as "Rock This World" and "Who's That Girl" to warrant separate articles for those.

Tcatron565, seriously: You really need to familiarise yourself with processes, policies and guidelines before you start making edits related to them. When you tag an article for speedy deletion, you do not blank it entirely, and "This is NOT a single" is not one of the speedy deletion criteria. This is just one example. I see that, despite earlier warnings, you're also inserting unsourced speculation into articles (rumoured singles and whatnot), which is also a violation of policy. Extraordinary Machine 20:54, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Dignity album article already summarises what's in the "Dignity" and "Gypsy Woman" articles; merging them in would just mean we had lots of detailed information on those two songs in an article about an album. Same with the Hilary Duff album article and those on "The Getaway" et al - what's suitable for inclusion in an article on a song isn't necessarily relevant when discussing the album. And "Supergirl" didn't chart anywhere, "I Am" was not a "huge" single on Radio Disney - please check your facts.
Here's another tip: when you say something like "I don't need you telling me what I can't and can do. I know what I'm doing", don't follow that up by committing another policy violation - you've already been told unsourced speculation and rumours about future events aren't allowed. If you can't find reliable sources to support information you're adding, you shouldn't be adding it. How about you read up on some of the policies and guidelines instead of rebuking other people's advice? That's more likely to send the impression that you "know what you're doing". Extraordinary Machine 23:18, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page (again)

[edit]
  1. Image:MRV1.jpg is made up of copyrighted album covers that can't be licensed under the GFDL - you can't release under the GFDL images or other material for which you do not own the copyright. See Wikipedia:Image use policy.
  2. Again, your user page isn't to be used for activities completely unrelated to Wikipedia, so I've removed the "Fantasies" section. Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site.
  3. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Thedayhascomecover.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Thedayhascomecover.jpg fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

A similar image like this already exists, Image:Cheyenne Kimball TDHC 2006.jpg.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Thedayhascomecover.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:44, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You just moved Let's Dance (Vanessa Anne Hudgens song) to Let's Dance (Vanessa Hudgens song) by cutting and pasting the article; this isn't the first time you've done this, and you were told not to do it then. I've just had to temporarily delete the article so that the page histories could be fixed. Pages should only be moved using the "move" tab, and if you can't do it that way, post a requested move. Do not simply cut and paste.

I've also reverted your edit to Dignity (album) because message board posts are not acceptable references. Why don't you give Wikipedia:Reliable sources a read, as you've been asked to already? Extraordinary Machine 16:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Spy Kids 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Spy Kids 2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Notability of DJ Phredee

[edit]

A tag has been placed on DJ Phredee, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. slakr 21:57, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tcatron565! I realized you posted the Hot Digital Songs peak of "Potential Breakup Song". I was about to revert the edit, but I wanted to discuss this with you first. I believe Billboard Hot Digital Songs is a component chart, and as one it doesn't need to be included in the article since it reflects its Billboard Hot 100 performance. Thanks for uploading Image:ALYAJIUK.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:01, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you need to have documentation that the single will exist before creating the article. "Rumored" is insufficient.Kww (talk) 22:17, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there!

I noticed u made the article for "Bullseye", but you're nowhere referring to a site confirming the song will actually be a single. This way, you're starting a rumor and i'm not gonna bother you with the rules, you're here since 2005, so u know that's not allowed. Could u please add references for the stuff you edited in there?

Thanks in advance. -- Luigi-ish (talk) 00:54, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! So I guess "Bullseye" really is the next off single then, can't wait for its video! Hope it does not contain any live-footage and something different this time lol. P.S, tell me if I'm mistaken, but are you the same Tcatron as from the UKMix forum? Lol =). -- Luigi-ish (talk) 18:59, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Really? I hope it's true? Seriously, what are ur sources? The fansites that exists here & now are kinda crappi in my opinion, updating just pics and common news. What fansites do you regularly visit? -- Luigi-ish (talk) 20:23, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have a smile!!!

[edit]

An article that you have been involved in editing, Candy cane, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Candy cane. Thank you. --BJBot (talk) 22:39, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Dick Brewer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
