Riaan Smit

I see you have tagged Riaan Smit for a BLP PROD. "To place a BLPPROD tag, the process requires that the article contain no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc.)" This article clearly contains external links, so I have removed the tag.Themself (talk) 00:31, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited St. Mark's Masonic Lodge, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Neo-Classical (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

CSD A7 on A'Tyan Kennedy

Hi, I wanted to let you know that I have challenged your WP:CSD A7 on A'Tyan Kennedy. In my opinion the claim about being ranked 5th in a track and field discipline is a sufficient claim of importance to survive criteria A7(even though it turns out to 5th in the NJCAA). It seems unlikely that the subject will pass the stricter notability guidelines, so I have no objection if you would like to WP:PROD the article or nominate it at WP:AFD. Altered speedy deletion rationale: Lucas Heiker

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I deleted Lucas Heiker, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. Nikkimaria (talk) 16:21, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Userspace article

In regards to this edit:

03:09, 17 April 2012‎ Tchaliburton (talk | contribs)‎ m . . (1,375 bytes) (0)‎ . . (Tchaliburton moved page User:Vickibamboo/Asian home gourmet to User:Asian Home Gourmet)

it looks like you moved a draft article out of a specific users space into the place a user page for an account would be- I don't know if there's something else going on here or the move was a mistake. OSborn arfcontribs. 03:31, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion?

Why are you nominating the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oakley77 (talkcontribs) 17:08, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

It is mentioned in many websites and articles, and, again, it was REQUESTED. Oakley77 (talk) 20:47, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Vickie Walber nomination

I declined the speedy deletion nomination you put on Vickie Walber. To be honest, I think that many other admins would have deleted it--it was very very borderline. But it had just barely enough of a claim of importance to me that I felt that it was worth going through a longer process (BLPPROD first, then AfD later if needed). I think it highly likely the article will be deleted eventually, but wanted to make sure. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:06, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Profetamine

My edit was not vandalism, I removed the speedy tag because it is not a blatent hoax, as can be seen by the reference at the bottom, which I was in the process of converting to the proper citation template with a link to Google Books (here if you are interested) before I ran into an edit conflict while you were inappropriately reverted my edit as vandalism. Have a read of Wikipedia:Twinkle#Abuse, and be sure that the edits that you are marking as vandalism are in fact vandalism before hitting the big red button. The [rollback (AGF)] button is for good faith edits, and there is no restriction on its use.--kelapstick(bainuu) 05:34, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

No worries, with regards to Unified Remote, A7 is only for web content (webpages, etc.), not software (like Android apps). Feel free to PROD it. --kelapstick(bainuu) 07:09, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Radically Simple IT LLC

Beacon Light Academy

A7 does not apply to schools, typically academies are schools, so you can tell what it is by the name. Also the no content tag was not correct, {{db-nocontext}} would have been correct as by the content of the article, you cannot tell what the subject is. Having said that, you tagged it one minute after it was created. For articles that will fall under no content or no context, you should give them a little more time to develop before tagging them, not all new users create in their sandbox or the articles for creation process, and premature tagging can come off as unwelcoming, and may turn potential new editors away. --kelapstick(bainuu) 07:47, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

April 2012

Hello Tchaliburton. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, regarding Cydel, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3) and articles created through the Article Wizard, is too fast. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), pure vandalism (G3), and copyright violations (G12) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. — Mr. Stradivarius 16:26, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of LibSBML, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Speedy deletion declined: Christopher Tarnovsky

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Christopher Tarnovsky, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article claims coverage in reliable sources. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:22, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

It didn't really look like an A7 to me, as it claims the subject's music has been included in the Rock Band game, and in a film. It did look like unambiguous promotion though - all the way through the article - so I think it would qualify for G11 instead. Best — Mr. Stradivarius 07:07, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

And by the way, I found this page very useful in learning how to do proper speedy deletion tagging: Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion/Overturned speedy deletions. — Mr. Stradivarius 07:21, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. Tchaliburton (talk) 16:17, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tchaliburton, I noticed the tags you put on the Torie Osborn article after I reverted an editors unexplained removal of the previous tags, but you may want to keep an eye on that article as there is now a second new editor removing the templates. The second editor did add a reference, and it's posible that the editor thought that's all that needed to be done to remove all of the tags in the article. I tried to explain why they shouldn't just be removed, but since their new editors, they could be misunderstanding why they were added in the first place. If at all posible, maybe you could leave them a message and explain why you added them in the first place, because I get the feeling that one of those editors was actually offended by them being added to the article which I know was not you intention. Like I said, they appear to be new to Wikipedia, and maybe a little guidance could make a big difference in this case. Cmr08 (talk) 01:29, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi again, you can probably just delete this message, as another editor has attempted to cleanup the article. I would have just reverted my edit, but I know I'm not allowed to revert my edits on a talk page. Sorry. Cmr08 (talk) 02:00, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Victoria County Court House, Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Victoria County Court House, Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:43, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

Non-notable musician, speedy declined. Giving creators a week to fix the poor sourcing.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion

Hi, I (would have) recently removed a speedy deletion tag you placed on Michail Lountzis under the G2 criteria. This is because the page does not look like a test edit at all, and rather looks like a genuine but failed attempt at creating an infobox, with encyclopedic information within it. Looking at your previous history of speedy deletion requests, I would like to ask if you could read and refer to this page when continuing to make speedy deletion requests. Invalid speedy deletion tags placed on a page can drive away new users. Thank you. Darylgolden(talk) 01:45, 23 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi,Tchaliburton! I am here to inform u that I have removed the speedy deletion notice u have recently put on the article Veda Scott. The article does not meet the speedy deletion criteria A7, because there is an accomplishment listed in the article: PWI ranked her #43 in the 2013 PWI Top 50 Females.

Around 15 of ur previous speedy deletions have been declined, and those are only the ones informed on the talk page. Please, review the Wikipedia:criteria for speedy deletion carefully every time u make a speedy deletion request. As said by Darylgolden, invalid speedy deletions can drive away lots of new users.

I know everyone makes mistakes. Before putting up deletion tags, please consult another wikipedian, for most of ur tags are misleading. U can always visit the Wikipedia:teahouse, or see Wikipedia:Editor assistance.U have been informed what to do by several people already, follow our advice, and u will be an awesome and active wikipedian. cut-and-paste move

Hello. You left a not on my talk: ""It appears that you tried to give World Federalist Movement-Canada a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history."

Guilty as charged. Since the article was newly created, I didn't think about this history. How might I correct my error? Thanks, 74.192.227.151 (talk) 16:02, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Richard Oland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page United Way. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion declined: List of matches at Wembley Stadium

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of List of matches at Wembley Stadium, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: CSD does not apply to lists. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 05:37, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

Meleanie Hain

Hello: I added three more sources to the article on Meleanie Hain to establish notability. I trust this addresses your concerns. Pha telegrapher (talk) 15:29, 13 July 2014 (UTC) Apparently I didn't address your concerns; I hope the additional sources I added make it clear that she is notable for more than one event and was already the subject of news coverage before she was killed. Thanks for reviewing JTBC Crime Scene, Tchaliburton.

Unfortunately Kudpung has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

Please read WP:NPP and WP:DELETION, then go back to the article later and if it still needs tagging, feel free to do so.

Speedy deletion declined: Veda Scott

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Veda Scott, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article is substantially different this time; much larger, apparently better sources. Needs to go to AfD again if youo want it's notability checked again. . Thank you. GedUK  12:01, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

Vinay Deolilakar

Hi Tchaliburton, I would like an explanation from you of what you were trying to achieve by moving this user draft into mainspace only to immediately prod it for deletion. That is really not an acceptable thing to do. The whole point of keeping a draft in userspace is because it is not ready for mainspace. If you have good grounds for deleting a user page then use an appropriate CSD tag or send it to XfD, but otherwise leave it alone for the editor to work on it. SpinningSpark 15:39, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

I didn't mean to do that. Not sure what happened. Tchaliburton (talk) 15:59, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

Ann Arbor Derby Dimes

Based on what, exactly? They are members of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association, one of over 200 in the world, and are currently ranked in middle of the pack, on the verge of reaching Division 2. Article is a stub, sure, but has multiple sources. Exactly how do you feel it fails notability? Echoedmyron (talk) 21:25, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Contesting Speedy Deletion of Reynolds Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Reynolds Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguous advertising. Also please note that article is still being edited to conform to Wikipedia standards, and more verifiable and referenced material are being added. Moreover, the article claims coverage in reliable sources. Thank you. Bigbenonline (talk) 01:54, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Kenneth A. Loparo

Just to let you know that I removed your WP:A7 from Kenneth A. Loparo. The article asserts the subject is a professor and has won awards--either of which negates A7. Perhaps your thinking was that the assertions were not verified by references, but references are not required under A7--only credible claims. —teb728 t c 03:25, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Ted Nicolaou

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Ted Nicolaou, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Multiple authority control entries on the subject; AFD is more appropriate. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 00:10, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Articles get deleted if the consensus is that they fail notability guidelines. Don't take it personally. You've made plenty of constructive edits and created many articles that do meet the guidelines. Tchaliburton (talk) 16:13, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
A Wikipedia consensus is useless to any editors ears if you spend countless hours on the article. Jonas Vinther (talk) 16:47, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello Tchaliburton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: a soft redirect is not eligible for A3. Thank you. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 03:28, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi: You have twice tagged this article for speedy deletion as a copyvio. The first time it was deleted; this time I've just removed the tag, because the duplication detector is firing on the titles of the cited newspaper articles. I've just gone through the article verifying its references and expanding it from them, so I'm responsible for the bulk of its current wording and obviously have tried to avoid copyvio in summarizing the sources (which are all in German); two of them are identical, so I invite you to check that I've managed that. But close translation was not what the duplication detector was boldfacing. Yngvadottir (talk) 20:01, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

I see now that the first version was indeed unambiguous copyvio of one (two) of the sources, still in German. But the version you tagged the second time was created in stages in English and had been otherwise transformed when you tagged it. (It may however be deleted via AfD.) Yngvadottir (talk) 20:11, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Citation templates

Hi Tchaliburton, thanks for all the work adding content and references to Frankie MacDonald, however when you add references, you should use citation templates, rather than bare URLs, I fixed some of the ones you added yesterday. Thanks, --kelapstick(bainuu) 11:40, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Also if you are using the same reference in two places you don't have to add it twice, you just give it a name and reference it later on, as I did here. --kelapstick(bainuu) 11:54, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I normally use reflinks, which apparently isn't working anymore. Tchaliburton (talk) 16:30, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

No worries, if you go to edit the page, and click "cite" above the window, it gives you a list of options for templates to use. --kelapstick(bainuu) 16:35, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (I'm creating a subpage for my infobox to be used on my userpage. I apologize I'm a wiki rookie but I have checked the userbox wikipages and I must've misread that I have to use the sandbox to create. Is that right? Use my sandbox to create then submit it for review? Or can I just put infobox at the top?) Pmanz2014 (talk) 06:58, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Why?

Hello there, Why do you want to delete Tonga national rugby league team results page? What is wrong with it? There has to be an explanation as to why this page is, lets say, "offending you". Stefan Milosevic (talk) 17:24, 2 December 2014 (NZT)

Information icon Hi Tchaliburton. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for EastGate Pharmaceuticals, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. The claim that they are publicly traded is an indication of significance. This doesn't necessary mean they are notable though, so feel free to take it to WP:AfD if you want. Sarahj2107 (talk) 14:10, 8 December 2014 (UTC) Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers, criteria for speedy deletion, and particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Thanks! Sarahj2107 (talk) 14:10, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I've declined because the thing appears to exist. A11 is for things that don't have any coverage and don't stand a cat in hell's chance of getting any, but making the assumption that they were created in good faith by whoever. Stuff designed to misinform is hoax, of course. There seems to be quite a lot of coverage (mostly in dubious sources, perhaps) and that rules out A11. It's a prod or AfD job if there isn't anything, or finding reliable refs for it. Peridon (talk) 17:17, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion

Why are you trying to delete my Mississippi Mudsnakes page? We are a hockey organization out of St. Louis, Missouri and we are using social media and the internet to grow our reach. I don't understand why you're trying to delete the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GCollins10 (talkcontribs) 21:34, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Still Confused about Deletion

Why isn't a hockey organization notable? I don't understand why you are the judge and jury for what is notable and what is not. I paid a graphic designer to design a logo, we have a professional inline hockey team, a floor hockey team, apparel, and a website. How would that not be considered notable? Forgive me about the multiple posts, I am new to posting on wiki.

Rowland Private Island

I've declined your A1 speedy deletion nomination of Rowland Private Island. That CSD criterion is only to be used for articles that are "lacking sufficient content to identify the subject of the article." In this case, while the article is short, it's still easy to tell that the article is about an island off the coast of California. If you want to delete it under WP:PROD or WP:AfD you can do that, but the A1 speedy deletion criterion isn't appropriate.--Slon02 (talk) 07:21, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
