McFly (band)

I think there are still a lot of citations to be added. It's quite annoying because I know a lot of the details, but I don't know where I know them from. I'm slowly working my way through the article, found a few things I didn't have sources for and tagged with {{fact}}s. Do you think DOBs need to be in the lead section? mattbuck (talk) 12:21, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh, also the rest of the citations need to be redone using {{cite}} tags, rather than just bare links. mattbuck (talk) 12:25, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Don't really see why they shouldn't be. If it's in the article, it needs to be referenced, or removed. mattbuck (talk) 17:36, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm done... that took all day. mattbuck (talk) 23:00, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Meh, never mind. It's good to have them. mattbuck (talk) 23:44, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Reply to Lead question

Probably best to reference them, if only for completeness sake. -mattbuck (Talk) 15:11, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Just a comment, but per WP:MOS, you shouldn't wikilink years unless there's a good reason to. Especially not more than once per section. Good work though. I added a JML poster which I think can qualify as fair use for this article. -mattbuck (Talk) 15:45, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Humm, wait, you're right about that - link when part of a date, otherwise refrain. I need to stop half-remembering this stuff :/ -mattbuck (Talk) 16:06, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
I honestly don't know. Maybe we should get it peer reviewed or something, or just ask a GA checker to tell us what needs to be done. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:12, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Capitalization

The Wikipedia:Naming conventions#Album titles and band names probably explains this the best... Even though artists/corporations may use incorrect capitalization for their product (film/dvd/album/etc) - and it's normally all words capitalized - for the title of the articles herein we use the correct capitalization. Whatever the product is titled can be "mis-capitalized" in the article (normally in the first words). There are some exceptions, such as when there is punctuation in the title - in fact, there are a couple of lists such as Album exceptions and Film & book Exceptions if you're looking for examples of the exceptions. question

Why did you edit my contribution to the Robert Pattinson article? Curious. --Cocotibit (talk) 01:31, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for removing the images in the Twilight-related articles. :) ~ Bella Swan 20:57, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it definitly was. Thanks again. :P ~ Bella Swan 01:21, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Another note on McFly

Congratulations. According to this script, you are the user with most edits to McFly, with 408 out of 3713 total. -mattbuck (Talk) 12:21, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and I uploaded a crap collage image, but it should at least help with the GA stuff. -mattbuck (Talk) 14:50, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
I think per the note from some other guy above, the article should be One for the Radio, but in the articles One For The Radio is correct. -mattbuck (Talk) 23:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and when requesting speedydelete, the template goes on the page you want to delete, not the talk page. -mattbuck (Talk) 13:34, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:The Cullens.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:The Cullens.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 14:40, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

University of Sussex IP block

There has been a long history of disruptive editing from that IP, delightful vandalism like this and this. Which of these edits do you think it is worth allowing on Wikipedia? Editors can create a user account elsewhere then edit from that if they have constructive contributions to make. There seems to be little benefit in having that IP unblocked. That said, if you wish it to be unblocked you can request that an uninvolved admin reviews the block by adding an {{unblock}} request on the talk page of the IP. Thanks, Gwernol 10:25, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Does the entire university have just one IP address? That seems unlikely. Most universities have a large block of IPs, so finding another from which to create an account should be possible. Every time that IP is unblocked we get persistent, repeated vandalism from it. I agree that its unfair to block potentially multiple users, but please take it up with those responsible for the underlying behavior that has lead to this IP being blocked repeatedly. Thanks, Gwernol 14:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
