Chien Yu-hsiu or Chien Yu-hsun in 1996 World Junior Championships

[edit]

Hi Terry850324, i see that you replaced Chien Yu-hsiu to Chien Yu-hsun in 1996 World Junior Championships article and all related articles about 96 WJC. But based on the report (www.worldbadminton.com) that released during the 1996 World Junior Championships in November 1996, said that the player who competed and won silver medal is Chien Yu-hsiu (see: [1] and [2]). It is also supported by Badminton Denmark article as host nation of 96 WJC (see: badmintonmuseet.dk page 6). So I think, these articles are relevant sources compared to www.ltsports.com.tw that released 19 years after that championships held. Stvbastian (talk) 01:46, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1978 WBF World Championship

[edit]

I looked into Nanyang Siang Pau newspaper, and:-

  1. the names of Hong Kong players are written in chinese like this : 傳汉平 & 李锦华, which transliterates to Chuan Hanping and Li Jinhua. I have no idea what could be the possible Cantonese name for these players.
  2. The score of Women's doubles match between Li Fang/Zhang Ailing and Sirisriro Patama/Suleeporn Jittariyakul seems confusing to me, can you clarify. Thanks!

Sorry, I'm a little busy today, will reply you tomorrow. -- Terry850324 (talk) 03:06, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Zoglophie:
  1. That's "傅(Fu)" both in Traditional & Simplified Chinese, not "傳(Chuan)". "傳(Chuan)" in Simplified Chinese is "传". "傳汉平" can found in Wikidata, whose English name is "Fu Hon Ping". But I can't find any information in Chinese neither use "李锦华" nor "李錦華". "李锦华" maybe spelling in "Lee Gam Waa" or "Li Gam Waa" in Cantonese. (Must know I don't use Cantonese)
  2. Li Fang/Zhang Ailing 15-8, 15-9 Sirisriro Patama/Suleeporn Jittariyakul. -- Terry850324 (talk) 09:59, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
