  • Thank you Emmett5. I must admit that I've been a Wikipedia contributor for some time, but under a different user name. I didn't like that name but unfortunately there is no way to change it so I created a new account. I still consider myself a Wikipedia newbie though, there is so much to learn :) TexMurphy 07:31, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for reverting the vandalism on my user page. IrishGuy talk 19:27, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

WP:EL says: "Articles about any organization, person, or other entity should link to their official site, if they have one." The MySpace is operated by Furtado and her management, so it is allowed. 68.85.185.223 23:25, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, nevermind. Her main website has a link to it anyway. I took it off. 68.85.185.223 00:05, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
  • WP:EL specifically mentions MySpace under WP:EL#What_should_not_be_linked ("Blogs, social networking sites (such as MySpace) and forums should not be linked to."). But as you say, it's linked from her official home page so it's not necessary to have a link from Wikipedia anyway. Just glad we agree. TexMurphy 10:54, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

DJDownload.com

There is no speedy category for advertisements, nor for non-notable websites. See WP:CSD. This article was already tagged for speedy, and an admin rejected it. Fan-1967 14:47, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

  • The subject comes up regularly. Many wish there were a speedy category for this kind of blatant ad, as well as the forums that have 30 users. Fan-1967 14:57, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Kalakoti

It looks like we both had the same idea, but you were quicker. Sorry about the conflict. Regards, Mr Stephen 11:52, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Please don't move pages by copying and pasting content, like you did with Höganäs AB. Use the move tag or request a page move at WP:RM. Thanks. ~ trialsanderrors 08:21, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

  • My apologies, I had no bad intentions. The company's name is Höganäs AB, but I think there should still be a redirect from Hoganas AB since not all people can type those characters with umlauts =). I do realise it's for maintaining page history and I see my mistake. -- TexMurphy 08:39, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Yeah there's copyright reasons for it. If you just do a page move with the move tag, it will automatically set a redirect from the old to the new page. Take care. ~ trialsanderrors 17:00, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Just a query..

Dear TexMurphy, within seconds of my creating a brand new page (Qasr al-Hosn), you made changes to it (no prob there). The nature of the changes (adding internal links, removing a sentence about the page being updated soon) felt as if a wikipedia bot surfed and adapted the new entry. Now I find you are a human being however.. So much the better..

Without any anger (really) I would like to ask why you felt you had to edit my entry whilst it was still being born? My second save, about 30 seconds after creation, was refused 'as another user has just changed your entry'. Again, feel free to edit, change, etc (eh, that's what the whole Wiki thing is about), but perhaps change relevant things only? For example, you adding internal links to the years 1761 and 1793, which are completely irrelevant (unless you or I decide to add the construction of Qasr al-Hosn to that year page), also deleted the very relevant "ca." 's that preceded the years..

Yours, X@x

  • Hi X@x. I have done only two edits to the article and both times the only thing I did was remove your signing, which I did because it's preferrable not to sign with your user name on article pages. I have made no other edits to your article as you can see in the page's history [1] [2]. - TexMurphy 13:16, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
  • You are absolutely right.. My apologies for lumping your edit together with what apparently is WikiBot activity.. And you are completely right about not adding user names to pages.. Still amazed you found the entry so soon, how did that happen?
    • No problems at all. I don't think it was a bot though, it might have been an edit conflict. It's unfortunate, but it happens. I found your article because it showed up on Special:Newpages when created, and I often check there. I tagged it for deletion the first time since it was basically empty. The new version automatically showed up on my watchlist since it has the same name. Anyway, good luck on the article :) - TexMurphy 14:06, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

My Apologies

I did not see that on his page before I gave you that message. I've removed the vandalism warning from this page. Clay4president 15:21, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

question

why have you removed all of the links i have added to musicians articals? I thought perhaps people might like to look at those sites as well as the other posted in external links. I'm just wondering if I did something wrong...thanks!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.167.7.254 (talkcontribs)

more info (re: question)

These pages offer exclusive content from the label that these artists are on. I simply felt that if people wanted the info included on the other external links that this would be added info they cannot get at the other sites. I understand that wikipedia mostly links to its other articals however those links are already in place. I feel not allowing these external links is not fair to the people who create the music for others to enjoy. Why should people only be exposed to unofficial info...these links represent a true picture of the artists. I do not want to waste my time yet again so please let me know if you intend to continue removing these links. Thank you very much for clarifying your edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.167.7.254 (talkcontribs)

"Redesription"-- explain why the page was deleted. It seems that some elements could be removed as silly but the page hold truth as per the talk page justification. I will simply keep posting it until a counter-justificaiton is presented.

Thanks

Thanks so much. I'm gonna be adding them back here shortly. Have a great day!!!

page for review, please see talk page of Jain Irrigation

Hi TexMurphy,

You have deleted Page Jain Irrigation, which is under review by another administrator and need your attention to it's talk page, deletion of the page is violation of Wikipedia rules. Please review WP:CORP guidelines for the page, if you have any suggestions are welcome. Deletion is a extreme step, and persons who have worked on it, they got there time & resources in vain please consider it. Another administrator already considered and marked that the page is for NPOV. He's reverting his talk page again, I'd revert it, but I don't want to risk a 3RR violation right now. John Reaves 06:43, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Just leave it. Wikipedia:Removing warnings doesn't have consensus, and it's not making the situation better. BigNate37(T) 06:51, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Merger Proposal

I have proposed that the article you moved to Georges Scelle be merged with George Scelle, because they appear to be about the same person. --TommyBoy 01:10, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
