Article deletion[edit]

Hi! I saw that the page was deleted, as it was a duplicate of an existing article. When creating new work, always make sure that the content isn't already on Wikipedia. If it is, then any new content should be merged into the existing article as opposed to making a new one. Just be cautious when merging info in, as you don't want to remove existing sourcing or material unless there's a good reason to and make sure that what you're adding is something that's missing and needed in the article.

Looking over your draft, it looks like the following info isn't mentioned in the article:

  • Charles E. Schmidt Sr., of Chicago, Illinois, was the founder of this company, founded in 1938 as a mail order tractor parts business. Source
  • The numbers of stores for TSC are different and it's claimed to be the largest type of its chain. This was unsourced, however.
  • As of September 29, 2018, there are 181 Petsense stores in 27 states across the United States. Source
  • Tractor Supply Company support several programs that are promoting in TSC's area of focus. Some organizations are non-profit organizations that promote agriculture and farming lifestyle, livestock exhibits, animal shelters, and pet adoptions. Source

This should be merged into the article to the appropriate sections. Also, while primary sources are fine for basic claims like these, it's also good to get secondary, independent reliable sources as well - especially if you're backing up any major claims of importance. • Something else to mention - always make sure that the material is written in Wikipedia's encyclopedic writing style. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:58, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

History of Tractor Supply[edit]

Tractor Supply Company also known as TSC has been around for 80 years. Charles E. Schmidt Sr. out of Chicago Illinois was the original founder of this company, he founded it in 1938 as a mail and order tractor parts business. In less than a year, in 1939 the business grew to be a very successful retail store and now today, it is the largest rural lifestyle retail chain store in the United States. The companies first store was based in Minot, North Dakota. That store was the start of this very large business and now it is working in over 49 states with over 1,700 stores and has over 29,000 team employees. The latest update on the store count was September 29, 2018 with exactly 1,748 stores across the 49 states. The headquarters of Tractor Supply Company is based out of Brentwood, Tennessee.

Tractor Supply Company also owns a company called Petsense, a small box pet store that was founded by Jim Dougherty in 2005. Petsense is a pet supply store that offers pet services and a variety of things that you would need for your pet. The first store was opened in Castle Rock, Colorado in October of 2005. As of September 29, 2018, there are 181 Petsense stores in 27 states across the United States.

From 1998 to 2002 they had a big time spokesperson for their company and his name was George Strait. Over the years of being on the Tractor Supply team he was in several commercials for them. In the commercial he talked briefly in the short amount of time that he had about all the tools, equipment, house needs and much more that they provide. After about five years Tractor supply ended the deal with Mr. strait to hopefully better the store, not that they were doing bad, the owner jus wanted to try something new.

Tractor Supply Company sells just about everything you need for the job. They have anything from hardware supplies and tools, farming and ranching equipment (3-point equipment, tractor parts, fencing), pet and livestock products, towing equipment, truck accessories, outdoor living supplies, clothing and more. There is just about everything but the tractor itself at the stores. Tractor Supply Company, being the largest rural lifestyle retail chain store in the United States bring in approximately 7.26 billion in annual revenue.

Tractor Supply Company does more than just work inside the store; they support several programs that are promoting in TSCs area of focus. Some organizations are a Non-profit organization that are promoting an agriculture and farming lifestyle and organizations livestock exhibits, animal shelters, pet adoptions and much more. In times of a natural disaster like hurricanes, tornadoes and wild fires Tractor Supply donates products to that town to help them out in a rough time. They also support our troops, they host an event every year called the "Support our troops" where people get letters and packages together to send out to all of our troops fighting. They even do discounts on Veterans day for former or even active members of the military.
