Hi,

Please explain to me the difference's between Wikipedia's idea of "information" and "content" so I can better follow your guidelines.

I added a 2-3 sentence summary of each of Jason Mott's novels, and then listed and linked to articles and reviews of his most acclaimed book as further reading or verification of its success. I did not plagiarize those sites or mention them beyond their relevance to Hell of a Book. How am I supposed to reference sites that positively review his work?

Please help me to understand where I am misstepping so I can make it right,

Hi ThatsARockFact! There's nothing wrong with the summaries. I did not remove those. But you did add a long list of outlets plugging the book as worth reading, which did not help the article nor would their addition be considered encyclopedic. However, this copyright warning is for your second violation on Wikimedia Commons, which you then introduced to Mott's article. You claimed ownership twice of two separate photographs by two different photographers. So I would say your ownership claim is dubious. You should familiarize yourself with Commons licensing guidelines. You may not upload just any image you want. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content, that is, images and other media files that are not subject to copyright restrictions which would prevent them being used by anyone, anytime, for any purpose. If you are the actual owner of a photography, consider using the Volunteer Response Team. And as I mentioned above, if you have a conflict of interest regarding Mott, it would be in your best interest to declare it. Cheers! Οἶδα (talk) 07:59, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
